Nothing changes with the new Firmware 1409 (release date 2022-10-04)

Once the first one appears, instead of ending when it should, it stays visible forever or until the next title replaces it.

OMG!!! Please solve it!!!!

Are you using anything like a sky box or cable box, because you can use the subtitle feature on these boxes until a new firmware fix

I'm playing from external HDD/SSD but if the movie.mkv file and movie.str are in same directory (not muxed) plays fine.

Oh OK, I thought you ment like when watching normal TV programs, yes movie.str has to be in same folder as movie file.

Have you ever tried playing movies from a USB stick , it does the same thing

Yep, firmware 1401/1409 breaks the subtitles embedded in the video files played from all USB devices.

What a shame, this bug should have been fixed in a week... and now some months later it's still there. How can we ask Samsung to fix it ?

I’ve just had a Samsung support agent tell me there are no bugs in Samsung firmware and updates are only to add new features….

This is getting ridiculous. I am now starting to contact Samsung support in several countries (starting here, in Germany).

Looks like Samsung layz software department doesent give a s*it about it!! Is OVER half a Year now!! Ok, my last Samsung TV. Just android TVs from now on, with apps that DO care.
