Hello, i have a  S9 phone and it was working fine. Sine January 2020 update was installed on my phone, auto correction stopped working. I have gone through the keyboard settings and ensured the relavant options are ticked off but the problem is not resolved. I also uninstalled UK English keyboard and replaced it with the USA English keyboard as indicated by another user, but still i am having the same issue. Appreciate your assistance.

Mine is exactly the same, it tells you how to do it but does not tell you what to do if the functions are greyed out. Exasperating pressing buttons with no response. I have a Galaxy S8 as well and no problems there.

What worked for me was when you get to choice of keyboards there are 2 Samsungs to chose from and in the middle is English Keyboard. Selected that one one which was my last choice as Samsung seemed logical, and worked straight away. Just a case of selecting the right option, which is often pot luck. So annoying when these instructions don't go in to fine detail. They always assume one speaks fluent Samsung.

I've had this problem on the S10 since Android updated earlier this week. The SmartTyping option was greyed out for me. In Language and input, I went to on-screen keyboard and there were several listed. The default kb (at the very top) had been set to Samsung Keyboard Neural Beta. I changed it to Samsung Keyboard, and I can now select SmartTyping, and it works.

It's crazy. It righted itself a while ago, then disappeared again and now righted itself again out of nowhere. Stupid technology

Go to your keyboard setting. Enter language and types. Enter manage input types. Update your language. It should fix the problem

I updated my Samsung Galexy S9 yesterday and my phone is now no longer spell checking.  I have tried solutions on other websites to start auto spell checker but nothing has worked so far.  it is very frustrating and annoyed the update has triggered that.

thank you
