A52s camera failed.

I am getting the camera failed message when trying to open camera app. I have restarted the phone,  cleared cache, reset the app, all to no avail.  Camera working on Messenger and Google lens. Any ideas?

1)
Check for system and app updates. An outdated operating system or app can cause this camera error

2)
Power up in Safe Mode, then check to see if your camera works properly. If it does, the problem could be a third-party app that conflicts with the camera software.

3)
Restart the phone in regular mode and remove recently installed or updated third-party apps one at a time until the problem disappears. You may need to restart the phone after removing each app to ensure it's completely deleted

Remove and then reinsert the microSD card. Occasionally a Galaxy phone camera encounters an error reading the SD card, which can cause the Camera Failed error. Reformat the card if prompted

When you say you've cleared the cache partition do you mean both the camera apps and the entire phones partition?

Hi, if you havent already it might also be worth trying reset settings from the settings options within the camera app

Have you tried to download other 3rd party camera app and see if this happens? (Like Gcam)

Settings > general management > reset > reset all settings.

I have cleared all cache, camera doesn't work in safe mode either but is fine in messenger and google lens.

Yes the one to try is Gcam, if you tried any steps including factory reset i would suggest to reach out to samsung support, or book a repair, but firstly try Gcam or other 3rd party camera apps and see if this happens

Mmm odd, could be wrong but the fact it opens on those other apps suggests to me a software issue. Worth trying a third party camera app. A few on Play store, I've used Open Camera before for testing
