Hello everyone,

I usually never write in these community chats but I am a bit worried about my s25 ultra. The phone has been hot while in standby for no apparent reason and in normal use (no gaming just basic stuff that basic smartphons can do). I also find the battery life to be very subpar too as I don't see much difference with my previous old and dying s22 ultra...(qhd not enabled) idk do I have a defective unit or did I make a bad choice? #Galaxy S25 Ultra

See under the battery section what is using the battery most. Could be an app or theme causing this
Also Wiping the Partition Cashe on the phone is a good idea as well

Turn off your phone.

Connect your phone with a USB cable to a PC or another Samsung mobile

You will see the charging icon on your screen.

Wait till it shows charging with battery percentage.

Next, press and hold the Volume up and Side key simultaneously.

You can press the volume up button just before the Side key.

The Samsung Logo followed by
Samsung Galaxy appears on the Screen.

At this point, release the keys

Phone will boot into Android Recovery mode

In Android recovery mode, using Volume keys, choose “Wipe Cache Partition” .

Use the power button to accept that.

You will then see its cleared.

Then the top option, reboot phone.

Press the power button to reboot the phone and then sign in normally

That's the thing. Android auto and YouTube are the highest apps in the battery usage.  Don't tell me these apps drain the battery and overheat the phone. It's 2025 and it should not be the case...

It's likely that when you transferred your information by Smartswitch. Some corrupted information can be transferred.

Try Wiping the Partition Cashe and see how you get on

Also if you have just got the phone, it will go through a battery learning cycle process that can cause inconsistent battery usage for about a week
Once done it settles down

Hi! Welcome to the Samsung members community!

Please note that using smartswitch has caused issues with some, what I would do is move everything across besides the apps- then install manually.

About the battery heat- Is your phone lagging at all? This is because Samsung s25u has a very good vapour chamber meaning the phone may feel hotter than it is as its pushing all the phones heat away from the components, which is a good thing. In terms of the battery life, I'm assuming this is a new device? it can take up to 2 weeks for the phones battery to calibrate properly- My battery life went from 4/5 hours to 12/13 hours on average.

as another member pointed out its always a good idea to clear the phones cache partition. https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/

Mines not overheating but I did get a warning message the other day saying my CPU was being overloaded and required a restart. First I've ever had a warning like that, but it's been perfectly fine since.
