Hi the plug on my eco bubble blew up last night. I was in the garage and saw the flash and all the smoke. The washing machine turned off before it continued but it looks like the fuse on the socket is intact.

I am pretty shocked to see this has happened to so so many other people on this site.

Is samsung going to do a recall? Or are they waiting for someone's house to burn down to acknowledge it?

Our washer is outside of warranty but this is a health and safety manufacturer issue, what recourse do I have against Samsung?

We have a Ecobubble 7Kg WF70F5EDW4X/EU

I would too. I did not know it was plugged into an extension lead, I think my father in law might have "fixed it" with this at some point when I was offshore.

Washing machine needs 13A fuse, most extension blocks are 5A fuses, have you tried replacing the washing machine fuse and plugging it direct or a properly rated extension block.

At a guess maybe it's just your extension block that's mullered

We had exactly the same issue. I actually spoke with Samsung today, following my post on here yesterday. They vehemently deny anything is wrong with this machine and made it very clear there is absolutely no reason to recall. Without having any real evidence that there is a systematic issue, it is very strange that so many owners of this model have the same problem?

We have an engineer coming next week to look at it. In the meantime we cannot use it. Only option is to buy a new one. Be assured it wont be a Samsung.

This has happened to loads of owners of the same model. Please co tact BBC watchdog and also log it with trading standards. The more that do this the more likely we'll find out what is really happening. Samsun are hiding something. They are very quick to send out an engineer for free.

Same happened to me today, I payed an electrician to come out and change the socket as I was worried it might be my socket. The electrician checked over and as you can see the plug socket on the wall is fine and it's the washing machine plug. He said its definitely the washing machine at fault and mines an economical bubble too this is concerning if they replace the plug and it happens again. I was lucky I was in the house at the time. Samsung are sending out an engineer tomorrow so let's see what they do? @Amosfandango12: I'm sorry to hear that you have experienced this issue, however you did the right thing by arranging for an authorised engineer to inspect the device. We take matters of customer safety very seriously, so the engineer will be able to identify if there are any defects that might have been a contributing factor, and advise you accordingly following the inspection process.

My Eco bubble WF90F5E3U4W/EU also had a thermal incident yesterday the wiring inside was very very close to catching fire, the machine stopped mid cycle , fuse was good but electrical burning smell. It's out of warranty but this should not happen. Not impressed with the urgency from Samsung in getting it inspected.IMG_1639.JPEGIMG_1641.JPEG

Better to burn out an extension lead than the wall socket. Mine has burned the wall socket and apart from the washing machine, which Samsung is yet to respond on. I will have to pay an electrictian to replace that!
