Z fold4 WiFi not turning on after update

I updated my phone on the 18th and ever since, my WiFi does not turn on anymore. I don't know what to do and I've followed all the instructions provided. I'm out of options.

sound like a non assumed software update issue.

 

it is amazing how the samsing repair ser ie alwaus claim hard issues for those.

My wifi stopped working all of a sudden, had the same issue as everyone else here. The wifi module wouldn't detect any networks. Resetting network settings didn't work, neither did a factory-reset. Reading lots of people saying it could be the hinge, so I tried the following and it worked for me:

  • open the phone
  • open up wifi settings
  • press down firmly along the inner screen hinge until you start seeing the wifi spinning/scanning symbol

So it's back working for the time being but don't envisage it lasting long. Definitely a hardware issue. A top-of-the-range phone which is 4 generations in this form factor shouldn't have quality issues like this. 18 months of good use but can't say I'm in a rush to buy another Samsung foldable.

By "open the phone", did you mean unfold? Cause mine automatically shuts off whenever I unfold. Tried it 4 times total to this day (last one was when I was at the service center when they were the ones who unfolded) and the biggest problem with that is the wait time for the phone to turn back on is random and I'm scared that the next one would not even turn the phone back on.

Yep, unfolded. Sounds like it's a ribbon/hinge issue.

Did Samsung say what the issue was, and is there fix still allowing you to connect to wifi?

I am going to call my phone provider and let them know Samsung is NO help with this issue!  I did not pay this much money for a phone that won't work when I need it!

I ALSO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE SINCE 4 DAYS AGO, I TRIED ALL ADVICES EVEN FACTORY RESET BUT IT WAS NOTHING. I BOUGHT THIS EXPENSIVE PHONE WITH MY ALL HARD WORK BUT WHY I GOT THIS SUCH FAILURE TREATMENT FROM SAMSUNG? Premium phone but trash quality neither it's software or the hardware. Please tell me what should i do, Samsung service center is too far from my place.. I did send email to Samsung but since my phone is overseas version( Taiwan version) i can't repair at the Samsung service center  Japan.
