I updated my phone on the 18th and ever since, my WiFi does not turn on anymore. I don't know what to do and I've followed all the instructions provided. I'm out of options.

Same case with my Fold 3 when I did the Game Launcher update on 12 Dec 2024, my WiFi doesn’t turn on anymore.

When I brought my Fold3 to the Samsung Service Center, they said it’s a hardware problem and would need to change the 2 flex cables and THE LCD ($$$} since it’s part of the ‘assembly’.  But I saw videos in YouTube of technicians being able to replace just the 2 flex cables.

After all of the problems with the WIFI and bluetooth and no one being able to help, my phone then would not turn on.  Took it to TMobile and even they couldnt help.  Samsung customer service was HORRIBLE!  I ended up buying a Pixel 9 Pro phone, and LOVE it.  I will never own another Samsung phone.  I even still owed $500 on this phone and couldnt use it as a trade in because it doesnt work!

Unfortunately, the only solution was to have my Fold3 repaired.  They replaced the flex cables crossing inside the hinge assembly.  My WiFi is back.

Fyi, my friend’s Fold3’s (he bought his at the same time as mine) main screen had gone dark (no display) a few days after my Fold3 had its WiFi issue.  Replaced the flex cables as well.

Samsung is boasting that their main screen’s glass can withstand 200k+ (or more) folds…..but they didn’t say anything about the flex cables’ durability.  My Fold3’s flex cables only lasted for 3 years, far worst than my 2012 Macbook Air which is still working until now.  😡😡😡

What did it cost to replace the flex cables? Can it be done ad-hoc in some minutes/hours at the Service Center?

I updated to 6.1.1 2 days ago and the wifi stopped working. I had to have wifi on to do the update but after that, nope. not working. I've tried restarting, powering off and on, resetting the wireless. Bluetooth still works.

Yesterday night (at approximately 12:30 AM), my Wi-Fi stopped working while I was watching a YouTube video. After the issue occurred:

- When I turned on my phone in NORMAL mode, I was able to enable Wi-Fi, but in Settings -> Wi-Fi, no networks were displayed (My house is quite large and has six different Wi-Fi networks from three separate access points, each split into 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands).

- When I turned on my phone in SAFE mode, after some effort toggling airplane mode on/off, clearing the cache of some apps, and switching Wi-Fi on/off, I was eventually able to connect.

What I did to solve the issue:

- With the phone booted in NORMAL mode (with Wi-Fi not working), I uninstalled several apps, including games, utilities, and some Samsung apps (e.g., Samsung Health, Samsung Wear)

- I rebooted into SAFE mode.

In SAFE MODE:

- Performed a Network Settings Reset (Settings -> General Management -> Reset -> Reset Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings). In my case, this alone did not resolve the issue.

- Navigated to Settings -> Connections -> Wi-Fi -> Three dots (upper-right corner) -> Intelligent Wi-Fi and disabled all settings.

- Went to Settings -> Connections -> Wi-Fi -> Three dots (upper-right corner) -> Advanced Settings and disabled all options (including syncing with Samsung Cloud).

- After these steps and further toggling airplane mode on/off, I was finally able to see my Wi-Fi networks.

- In Settings -> Apps, searched for "Wi-Fi" and found an app called Google Wi-Fi Provisioner. I cleared its data/cache and disabled it.

- In Settings -> Apps, searched again for "Wi-Fi" and found an app called Secure Wi-Fi. I cleared its data/cache and disabled it.

- Additionally, I disabled the apps Link To Windows and Smart Switch (though this step might not be necessary).

If your Wi-Fi starts working in SAFE mode after these steps, you can try rebooting your phone in NORMAL mode.

Your Wi-Fi should continue working after the reboot, but you need to test if it remains active for at least 10 minutes.

In my case, without disabling certain settings, the Wi-Fi would stop working 5–10 minutes after rebooting into NORMAL mode.

I suspect there are some bloatware configurations or synchronizations between Google and Samsung apps that interfere with network management, causing the Wi-Fi issues.

Unfortunately those steps didn't work for me.

UPDATE: the defect occurred again yesterday evening.

I was convinced that it was a software issue, so I flashed the stock ROM with Odin using CSC (fully wiping the device, including user data).

After the wipe, during the initial configuration, the wifi worked for approx 10 minutes, then stopped working again.

After reconfiguring the software and testing more carefully, I noticed that the Wi-Fi stops working each time I open the internal screen and works again when I close the phone.

So, in my case, is definitely a harware issue (maybe some damaged intenal cables connecting and disconnecting when opening the phone)

My device is 4 months out of warranty.

I'm sure that I won't buy any foldable phone in the future.

I have tried the below, and fortunately works for me.

1) Backup all data

2) Factory reset

3) Setup everything per standard. Dont turn on or it may still not turning on WIFI at the moment.

4) Reboot my phone.

5) Use external internet connection (4/5G/ USB or Bluetooth tethering) for internet connection.

6) Goto Settings, Download and Install update.

7) Once the update downloaded and install, it will auto-reboot.

My WIFI is back after this. Hope it helps.
