So recently MY ZF4 has started giving me a black screen and become unresponsive when I unfold the phone, it will also then sometimes automatically restart itself after the screen goes black. I have tried everything, including a factory reset but nothing has fixed this. I am just wondering it anybody else has had this? This phone is not even a month old, if it is a bug in the hardware or software, samsung needs to address it,

Update to post directly above: phone works while opened only when paired in bluetooth (regardless of if audio is being used or not). However, when an alarm plays it will still crash the phone while paired in bluetooth as the alarm audio plays over both the bluetooth headset AND the phone audio out. Just for clarificatio. The phone audio out sounds normal when not crashing (tested when phone is folded closed). Issue seems to be some kind of link between the hinge and audio port but is odd as the issue will occur even if no audio occurs (tested with all audio settings on mute and not even allowing vibration). It is certainly software related.

My 13 months fold 4 had this issue triggered yesterday when I unfolded my phone and hear that crackling sound then it went black and reboot. I read this thread and follow this post, it works OK if paired with Bluetooth earbuds.

Anyone got it fix without sending to service center?

Update: This is confirmed hardware issue and warranty to replace whole screen is the only resolution.

It is definitely hardware mate. Mine was still under warranty when the issue occured. Samsung replaced the internal display, hinge and the battery which implies they have replaced the MB too. Simply put, except the outer screen, everything else is brand new including the frame. I have got some scratches on the hinge, but they said it is acceptable. Btw, the battery life I feel is much better after the repair.

Must go for service. No other choice. It is hardware related. See my other comments.

I am from India and found similar glitches on my Fold 4. When Unfolding..the phone switches off. Even in folded stage, The WiFi  doesn't connect. Bluetooth issues appeared and solved themselves off. The Mobile Hotspot went off. Even the Single Screen flickers on its own.

My Ver is One UI 5.1.1 and last updated in India on 22 September 2023.

After going thru the thread info above, I tried opening the fold by keeping it charged. Now, It seems to work fine...doesn't switch off. Flickering is not there. Phone doesn't switch off. However, Wifi, HotSpot issues are still there.

Tomorrow...I'll go to service station and see.

Have you found a fix for this? This is exactly whats happening to me now.  Disabling Application MTP I think helped a bit becuase now this is an intermittent issue for me.

This problem started for me last night. I havent abused my phone or had accidents. Ive never even had a crack on the only screen protector Ive had on it.

Clearing the cache did nothing.

The bluetooth pairing makes it work again. Also, plugging in a USB-C headphone set. Unplugging the headset instantly turns the phone off.

Im not sure how this is a hardware issue when it seems correlated with the audio whether its wired or wireless.

I'm looking for the "fix" as well.

This is hardware issue and the only fix is to send warranty to replace the entire screen. No other alternative.
