Hello 👋 and may I extend a Warm Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum @katie-07
Here are a couple of troubleshooting steps you can try.
1. Settings > Apps > Tap on the icon that allows you to show system apps > scroll down to One Ui > Storage > Clear Cache.
2. Safe Mode > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-to-start-my-galaxy-device-in-safe-mode/ turns off downloaded apps and themes etc which may highlight an app or theme that's causing conflict. Alternatively long press the power off button and then long hold on Turn Off to get to Safe Mode.
3. Clear Cache Files from the phone's System Partition Section > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to insert your earphones or hook upto a powered On Laptop or use a Tv's USB Port to access the Clear Partition Section. This may help with lag or stutters as this clears the phone of old/unused or broken cache files.There is also a Repair Apps option in the Menu System too { Possibly excluding the s²⁴ Series of phone's }
If you perform a forum search you may find existing threads with some further help or guidence within.
If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask 😎

Exactly same issue for my 3 month old ZFlip6 and its main screen has completely frozen now after UI 6.1.1 update. Smaller flip screen works fine.
Tried all the suggested steps but nothing helped.
Initially main screen was working intermittently but was lagging badly.
After couple of days it became completely non responsive. Somehow managed a factory reset but still same.

Just spent the last couple of days troubleshooting this issue as my Flip 6 was freezing when I opened the phone. Tried everything mentioned above including rebooting in Safe Mode and then eventually resetting to Factory Settings and the phone still was freezing. Finally, in Settings->Device Care->Performance Profile, I changed it from Standard to LIGHT. Phone is now not freezing. I guess we need to throttle the processor for this phone to work "normally". Never had this issue on any phone before, especially after a phone reset. I hope this gets formally resolved if other users are experiencing the same issue.

UPDATE. stopped working again. But if I don't close the flip, it will work. If I close it and open, it will freeze and stay that way even after force booting phone. I will take it to Samsung repair but I'm sure there is nothing they can do.
