I had my Samsung Z fold 5 as soon as it got released in August. As my first Foldable i absolutely loved the experience but i continued to read about these phones being notoriously fragile hence i would absolutely baby my Z Fold 5. Three months in and i started noticing the hinge making this sound i wasn't used to and i also felt the phone wouldn't open completely. Although it was a very minor difference but it did alarm me. Just a week ago i open my Fold 5 and Bam. The inner display has a black line in the centre and my heart sank. I closed the phone and opened it a couple of times and eventually the touch stopped working and the more i opened and closed the hinge the worst it got. Eventually the inner display started flickering and turned green in the centre. All this happened in just one day and i had to run to O2 office to claim the warranty and they eventually replaced my phone. Mind you that the inner display had the protector intact and as i said i would absolutely baby my phone with the best case i could get.
Point is i am scared of Foldables now. It is a risky luxury but i have anxiety now everytime i open my Fold 5. If you want to get this phone without full damage cover warranty you might as well throw money in fire.

My bad experience with fold z 5 never ever by samsung again. My previous phone had sensor issues after 2 years, and the brand 1.5 month z fold 5 inner display started flickering and turned light flashing on the left side. As it 1.5 months old, vodafone reject to replace it as the same as samsung. Spoke with the samsung team today, and they said only repair it....

I had mine for 15 months and like everyone else I took extremely good care of it, never been dropped ,no scratches on either screens then I opened the large screen and seen a big black line going down the middle and the screen was frozen ,then both sides just had coloured lines , I took it back to telstra and was told they wouldn't fix it because that's what the screen will eventually do, I didn't get a heads up when I bought it that this could happen and it would be my fault, instead because I had upgrade and protect they pretty much suckered me into upgrading to the fold 6,so I'm going to be angry if the same thing happens.

This is absolutely un true. Had the same thing happen to mine and Samsung say its down to damage I've caused yet all the damage is under the screen.

Absolutely the worse customer care I've ever come across I won't have another Samsung phone even if it was given to me

I had the same issue. First the phone wouldn't fold flat and told it would be a 4 week turn around. I didn't have a backup phone so said don't worry will deal with it. Then my Bluetooth ans WiFi wouldn't turn on. I was overseas so waited till I got back to try and get it working. No one could fix it, even the people at Samsung and even did a  full reset. Then it kept shutting down when I closed it. Finally I sent it away to be fixed. I received a text message 4 days later that it would cost $1095 to fix it. I bought it in May 2023 and it was under warranty. They denied my warranty due to a couple of scratches and said I dropped my phone and damaged the hinge. I can't remember dropping it but my 2 year old Grandson tipped my bag out in a parking lot one time. I always have had a case with it and close it when not in use. The screen protector had come off and they said there was a scratch on the screen. I told them to keep the phone as it wasn't worth fixing it if it had this many issues after only 18 months. I see with checking reviews of the fold5 so many other people have had the same issue. The warranty isn't worth the paper it is written on and Samsung needs to step up and acknowledge the faults with this phone. Would never buy a Fold phone again and thinking twice about getting another Samsung phone even though I have always bought Samsung and never owned anything but a Samsung phone.
