I bought a z flip 6 through Very on the 2nd October, but I didn't insure it with the purchase. I've had Samsungs since 2017 with no issues but this device has within 7 weeks got a white line through the middle of the screen, seemingly like a line of dead pixels?

Is there anything I can do about this to get it fixed , or am I likely to be charged?

Hi. Sorry took hear that.

Assuming you haven't dropped it or damaged it you should be under warranty. Contact Samsung support though the members app and they should be able to give you the repair options

Hi @DeeBee91

Do check what Verys Cooling off period is please.

Also check https://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/regulation/consumer-rights-act-2015

Payments by Credit Card can be supported by their own Terms and Conditions under a Section75-protect-your-purchases.

Debit card purchases also have a lower level of consumer cover.

Obviously this is if you encouunter any pushback from Very as they are the merchant thus have a duty of care.

Samsung phones in the UK have a Limited 2 year manufacturer's warranty but this does not cover issues caused by accidental damage.

Please let us know how you get on.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

Hi there, @DeeBee91. I appreciate your concern here, so the first step I recommend would be a soft reset. This doesn't erase any data, but we find this solves a variety of potential issues by giving your software a fresh start. To do this, press your Power and Volume Down keys together until you see the Samsung logo.

The next step would be to pop your Z Flip6 into Safe Mode. This will disable any third-party applications, so that we can determine whether these are causing the issue. To do this, press and hold the Power button until you see Power off, Restart and Emergency > Press and Hold the Power Off icon until it shows a Shield > Tap the Shield. After this, the phone will start in Safe Mode.

If the line is not visible whilst in Safe Mode, then it suggests that it is being caused by a third-party app. To resolve this, exit Safe Mode, then begin uninstalling apps you've downloaded one by one (restarting the phone between each app uninstallation) until the issue fixes itself. Once you've identified the troublesome app, you can reinstall the other apps via the Galaxy/Google Play Store.

Should the issue persist, I'd recommend having your Z Flip6 inspected at this stage. Whether or not the repair is chargeable is dependent upon what the engineer finds. Before doing this, you might wish to see if there are any other steps that help you get the display to appear as expected:

Sorry but your advice is not correct.

@DeeBee91 your retailer is Very. Please reach out to Very who need to resolve the matter for you.

Very will either replace the device or arrange for a repair. It is not your responsibility to reach out to Samsung here.

Thanks, I haven't had much luck with Very customer service in the past as they tend to defer customers to the manufacturer. I have raised it via the Samsung app directly and it appears it may be covered so long as its not caused by misuse. Collection arranged for Sunday

Thanks all for your input.

I know what you mean. I refuse to purchase from Very for the same reasons.

Please be mindful that Samsung don't have a great track record on here at least in relation to Foldables. A small number of users find that the repairs service find other issues then refuse to cover the fault under warranty.

I hope this won't be the case for you here though.

Same here, I'm quite careful with my devices, so if they find something I'd be very surprised.

Warranty it, if there’s no physical damage shouldn’t be a problem
