I received the latest firmware update on the 15th of May. After installing, the phone restarted several times on its own but appeared to be fine to start with. What I did notice though was that the phone was very hot and the battery was draining quickly, till it eventually switched it self off. So, I recharged the phone and switched it back on. What I found was that the phone had gone into flight mode. I turned the flight mode off and then I found that the WiFi was turned off. I've tried turning on the the WiFi. It turns it self straight back off. I've tried resetting the network settings. Makes no difference. The WiFi will not turn on.

I think that samsung is in denial over this issue. Have always had a Samsung galaxy s series phone. Made the switch to fold. I think I made a big mistake. Won't be taking another and I can't recommend a fold phone to others either. Will be switching back to the s series again in the future

Having the exact same issue. Last night my wifi disconnected and when I tried to turn it on it doesn't show any networks available. Phone calls and text messages are spotty at best. Up until yesterday my phone was perfect.

I went to the Samsung store today and they re-flashed the original firmware. For a while everything was working great, and just now it started doing the same thing again, dropping wifi and no networks available. I'm going back to the store tomorrow.

This is unacceptable.

From M'sia, having issue Wi-Fi unable to turn on since 25 July 2023,, last firmware update was 14 July 2023 (1st July 2023 release), this happened after restarting phone due to laggy... Bluetooth no issue.. done network reset but still the same... i hate send the phone to Samsung Service Center it's very inconvenience and phone need to backup / reset, redo all settings which is troublesome... i'd not choose Samsung if Huawei is still able to access Google services.

So it looks like there is an increasing amount of people with this issue and Samsung are making a mess of dealing with it in every case reported here so far.

If we collect a group of customers which is 30+ and take it either directly to them, or spread the word via a  tech news site, I think it may do a better job of bringing this issue to light.

Reply to the thread if interested in grouping, and if anyone else has a good contact for a tech news site, I don't mind making contact on behalf if everyone. At present its better than being told tough luck after spending hard earned money on a flagship device just before they launch the next one.

Thanks for reading,

Glad I found this on the eu community.  A lot of us stateside are seeing this exact same issue as well. Have an appointment w service center on 8/3 (or 3/8 for the rest of the world) and will update after that.

Follow by my post above, I tried the steps provided by support team but unfortunately it couldn't wake up the Wi-Fi. Will proceed to send to service centre.

I'm not sure if this link to screen protector replacement I did a month ago which damage the screen (done in Samsung SC). Reason because my wife Flip 4 had issue after screen protector replacement as well, her case was auto off when folded the phone. Anyone had similar experience?

Hi,

I am having  the same issue with my Fold 2. My phone has no damage whatsoever and one day the Wifi just stopped working suddenly.

I am just out of warranty by a matter of weeks, but Samsung refuses to cover the cost of repair which I can’t afford.

I see there are several cases reported on these community forums with the same issue across the Fold range…

I am so upset and stressed after paying £1.279 upfront only to be told 2 years later that the cost of repair for no fault of my own could be over £600.

Ive been a samsung customer all my life and find this unacceptable. I feel like it’s a set up to go faulty just as it gets out of warranty by a matter of weeks.

I would join a collective lawsuit as clearly this is a common manufacturer issue that Samsung refuses to take responsibility for.

Regards,

A ‘no longer’ samsung customer, UK

I started having this same issue starting July 7 right after a update. First the WiFi went out, a few days later the bluetooth went out. I have not been able to turn on WiFi or bluetooth ever since. A few days ago I let my phone completely die and charged it in the morning. It was having issues turning back on, after multiple force restarts it finally turned on but I still had the same issues. Today my phone was at about 80% and decided to completely power itself off randomly and now it will not power back on completely. It gets to the "Verizon" loading screen and just stays there for hours. I am lucky that I backed up my phone to my computer a few days ago and I have a backup galaxy note to use until I get get this Z Fold 4 replaced. Honestly at this point, I am going to ask for a refund and see what they say and just go with a different phone.

Same problems here. Out of the blue, I could not turn on WiFi using the screen icon. Three days later, I got the dreaded "No SIM Card Detected" message. I had read in a post on this thread: Close phone, turn off, turn on and do not reopen. Viola! Phone is usable again but still no WiFi. Ever since, the phone battery seems to last about half as long as before.

After two hours on the phone with tech support, they agree to send me a new phone, just received this afternoon. Definitely a common issue with all posting here. Samsung needs to own up to this problem. I am actually considering trying out the Pixel Fold in light of this issue.
