If sim slot² recognises your sim card can you try another sim card in slot¹ to see what happens.
For example my Samsung Galaxy s²³ Ultra worked fine with my o2 sim card in Slot² , however in Slot¹ it lost connection.
But when I inserted a Vodafone Sim card in Slot¹ all was good.
So I just went with that 😳
