samsung s24 ultra showing emergency calls only even though having full signal strength bar

good day,

i was using Samsung s21 ultra and recently exchanged for S24 ultra 2 days back. The issue started after few hours of inserting m old sim which was working fine in my old Samsung S21 ultra which is now only shoeing emergency calls only inspite of having full signal bar. I did try all the methods like restarting the phone, changing the sim card to other sim card tray, resetting the network connection but it works only for 1-2 hours and again its going back to Emergency call only mode. So i am looking for anyone facing the similar problem and any help which will resolve this issue. thank you.

I had same problem with my S24U after the August update, but after I switched off the phone, it works fine. My Note20U though is running out of signal frequently now and for long periods of time. On the S24U sometimes the signal is weak but the phone still works fine and is not noticeable now although I see it on the signal bar that there is a line, 2 lines or no signal line. However, you said that you are using an old sim card, so maybe if it's working on the S21U, that's an older phone, so maybe that's why they are compatible.

Thanks for your reply. I tried all the methods but nothing works. May be i will try getting a new SIM. Not sure where the problem is.

I think I've been using my sim for about 4 years as it needed to be replaced because it was old and losing signal. There are many users complaining they are having signal problems since the August update, also my Note was fine, before, but both phones had a August update. I am thoroughly confused what's happening lol

Haha yes. I had no problem before. Just got this phone 2 days back and the problem started. Hope it will resolve soon.

If you've done updates when you started using the phone, than you are up to date with all the good updates and with the glitches too 😂 😂 I hope they fix it soon for all the phones, it's very frustrating to run out of signal in the middle of something 😂 😂

Yes I did the update on starting the new phone. I wish I should have known that before 😅

It looks like it has something to do with 5g. Once I limit my phone to connect to 4g only, I don't have the issue anymore, but we need a fix ASAP.

It's so annoying. Like have to put airplane mode or restart all the time to get the signal back. I will try 4g mode then. Wish they resolve this issue soon.

We need to submit the case to Samsung support to ensure they know about the issue. Hopefully, they can fix it with the following software update.
