On Gmail, head to your settings. There's something called 'Dark web report,' which starts monitoring to get alerts and guidance if your info is found on the dark web.

Should this be enabled?

Isn't this a question for Google as yoy say option is in Gmail? Samsung and Google aren't the same company

Well, Samsung uses Google services. For example, the text messaging app, Google Messages, isn't Samsung's. I think there are other examples too, which I don't readily recall. So, I think it is relevant to ask, and I want to see what people think.

Well, they use Google services. Not sure what they can or can't do.

Well they can't, why would Google let another company control them?

That I don't know. When I got the S24 Plus nearly 11 months ago, it came with Google Messages. That isn't Samsung Messages; it's Google in that regard. So does that mean Google owns it or does Samsung - I have no idea.

But I hope other memebers can help with advice and guidance.

It does exactly what it says will do. Personally, can't be bothered. That said it certainly has its use and importance for some

11 months ago I think Samsung was still developing their messages app, that is not longer the case so everyone was recommended to use Google Messages. You can use whatever you can find on the stores, at one point there was few decent ones out there, not sure anymore as use Google Messages.

Samsung uses Android under licence from Google. Not ownership and has no control over it, they may have some influences but Google doesn't have to do anything it doesn't want to
