Random mobile data issues on eSIM Digi – S24 / One UI 8 / Android 16

Hello everyone,

I have a Samsung Galaxy S24 running One UI 8 / Android 16, configured as follows:

  • Slot 1: Physical SIM (Digi)

  • Slot 2: eSIM (Digi)

The issue:

  • After losing mobile data signal, the connection on the eSIM does not reconnect automatically.

  • Sometimes toggling Airplane Mode fixes it, other times only a reboot helps.

  • The physical SIM works fine; the problem occurs only on the eSIM.

  • Settings: LTE only enabled, VoWiFi disabled, VoLTE tested ON/OFF.

  • Important note: when I had 2 physical SIMs, I did not have this problem. It appeared only after switching to eSIM.

What I’ve done so far:

  • Reset network settings

  • Reinstalled eSIM

  • Smart Tutor session with Samsung Romania support

  • Feedback sent via Samsung Members

Additional observations:

  • The issue occurs randomly, both in Romania and while roaming

  • The frequency does not seem correlated with location or app usage

If anyone has experienced the same issue, please share your experience.
Also, if someone from Samsung could confirm that the logs and this issue will be forwarded to the development team, it would be very helpful.

Thank you!

I've sent feedback via the Samsung Members app, and I got an answer from Samsung Romania to call them. I spoke to a service agent, and he told me that everything is fine with the phone. He also accessed my phone via the Smart Tutor app, and everything appeared to be fine. He also told me that they had not encountered this problem before, and that if it persists, the only option is to send the phone to service. However, I would prefer not to do that for an issue that seems to be software-related

Hi @Katalyn08 If you have detailed issue and included the system logs it should forwarded to Developers.  You will need to await a response,  as mentioned this is primarily a self help forum with some input from Moderators.  Developers tend not to spent much time on it. This is actually the Uk/Ireland community, the Romanian one directly above on the EU community website https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/romanian/ct-p/ro

If on Members App need to ensure location is correct

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.
