When I try to share picture from camera/gallery to messenger it says it needs permissions and suggests to go settings which I do. When I access settings for messenger all permissions are allowed and yet it does not allow to share.

Hi @Zapas

If the phone says that it needs permissions, it is very likely that you have missed a permission.

Does the app have the right permissions for storage, Photos and videos, Nearby location, Music and audio, Camera?

Can you share to another application, e.g. WhatsApp?

Have you tried clearing the cache partition?

Hi, Ive just tried it on my S24Ultra and it worked first time. The permissions are as shown. So I'm not sure why it wouldn't work for you. As Reylob says try emptying Cache etc. Sorry not much use.1708418736029.jpg

For the future, it is just enough to:

  • remove the permission for photos and videos
  • go to messenger, click on image icon next to chat
  • Click always allow
