Samsung S24 Mobile Data + Notifications not working

If I leave my house and have to rely on using my 5g mobile data, if I don't open any social media apps (Facebook Messenger, Discord, Snapchat, etc), my phone will not alert me of notifications of new messages and alerts from any apps.

My data DOES work when I open the apps and has a connection within them.

I've checked background data, making sure data saver is On or Off.

Checked notification settings. Checked each app, permissions given, none of the ones I use the most are in deep-sleep.

I've checked other Google searches / especially the Google search links that led to the Samsung community boards.

Anybody have advice on how to fix this issue with my phone?

It feels like my apps like FB messenger are not updating in the background to notify me of new messages/alert notifications from those apps when I only have my mobile data on...

Hi @RyanM4

May I extend a Warm Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum 👋

See if going into Settings > Connections > Mobile Network > Network Mode > Change to 4G/3G/2G

And Clear Cache Files from the phone's System Partition Section  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to insert your earphones or hook upto a powered On Laptop or use a Tv's USB Port to access the Clear Partition Section. This may help with lag or stutters as this clears the phone of old/unused or broken cache files.There is also a Repair Apps option in the Menu System too { Possibly excluding the s²⁴ Series of phone's }

Let us know how you get on please.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Have you checked 'Device care'?
Select the ➡️battery option
and go down to➡️ 'background usage limits'. There, look for apps that are in the deep sleeping apps option. If your apps are not in the sleeping apps option but in the deep sleeping app option, you will not receive any notifications.
Apps that are in the sleeping apps option receive update occasionally 1728244144694.jpg
