Do they not know what an Oled panel is used for? It's for darker darks and brighter brights. S24 may be brighter but why are the blacks like grey? It's affecting the vibrancy on all the colors. Like they set the white too high. Everything is Washed out. Even tv critics want the best punchy oled colors for tvs...samsung s95b was basically every TV critics TV of the year last year because it was super bright and vibrant. Now with their phones they are choosing to go away from that? Crazzy.

they not have anything to compare, I understund that they jump from IPhone to s24u and all looks better but if you jump from s23u you will fill like scammed little boy.

I compared mine with a iphone 12 pro, and the iphone's screen looks more colorfull , that is why I feel wierd when people say thier device is OK, and starting to doubt If my display is worse than the other S24s!

I returned mine yesterday. My S23U is so much better screen wise. I'm not putting up with their shenanigans.

Honestly, this can be easily fix if samsung gives us an option. If they want to go natural, that's fine but give those that want vivid color an option. This will be a win win situation for everyone. I am sad I already sent my s22 ultra back...so I am stuck with this phone. It's not hard to give option or at least fix the vivid/natural setting.

Well i still have my s22 ultra but i did purchase my new s24 ultra within my carrier. and thier return policy is half-half say i have 30 days hassle free but some controversy if i used the phone more than 30 mins of vocals, and x sms etc they may charge something just not right. i may initiate a fight with my carrier to explain this whole BS i don't know yet.

Let's do some scientific work.
Look below: You can probably guess which one is S24U. The vibrant one is S22U. In the reply to this post, I will reveal some findings behind this.

Everyone who wants Vivid mode to actually work, please send the CEO an email. Apparently, they are not aware of this issue and the display is not changing / designed as-is. Whatever patch is coming in Feb will not update the display, most likely it will just be a security patch only. Return the phone while you still can in the meantime.

Let's take a look at the complete blue, red, and green backgrounds in the pixel level (all the backgrounds are prodcued by dialing *#0*# and selecting individual colors). Top one is always S24U and bottom S22U. It does not allow me to upload directly, so I share links to the pictures
Let's take a look at the blue background:
No problem in the blue
Now Red:
Here, you can see S24U introdcues some green to the Red background. Result is less red and more orange-like look.
Time for the green one:
Here, S24U mixes green with a lot of blues and reds, in contrast to S22U, in which has slightly red mixed to the green.
Conclusion is, the color profile is a lot different in S24U compared to S22U.
