The gradient colour defect in this picture is very visible.
The picture was shot in 1x 12M warm filter.
The only light in the room is from the lamp, so probably this can be considered low light picture idk.
I took the picture just for fun to see the colours, and there it is, the gradient defect showed up.

I have attached a picture taken with the Note 20 Ultra.
The better calibration of colours and the better framing is visible easily.
Picture was taken with the same settings as the S24U 1x 12M warm filter.

The pictures were a bit cropped, but it didn't affect the quality of the pictures.

What do you call the gradient defect ? The s24 seems better imo

I mean the colours don't blend in nice and smooth, the picture looks like an amateur paiting. The Note 20 Ultra is more natural. Where is the camera update?? 😭 😭 😭

The Note 20 Ultra takes wider pictures too. I miss it so much when I am taking pictures. 😭😭😭

The 1st pic is indeed from the S24U and the second one is from the Note20U.
I don't feel any change for the camera from the update, if anything, it's not better at all.

Ah, to be honest I find the first picture much better than the second.

And yes, I don't feel any difference after the update too, maybe a bit less grain indoor.

But I noticed the picture quality is easily affected when the lens is not clean, try cleaning the lens everytime you take a shot, it made a huge difference for me.

Still I made the comparison with the s23u and always have found the pictures of the s23u better than my s24u ...

Those differences are most likely due to the ISP differences between Samsung and Qualcomm. The S24 handles the exposure far better, but as you point out, it creates banding artefacts.

Colour wise the S24U is better, I am sure it even has better camera software and hardware, but the colour blending is much better on the Note.

I am very peculiar about taking pictures so I do all that, it's not dirt on the lenses or anything.

First time I hear that. But I agree, it needs some optimization. I am sure it can become a great camera, it's got plenty of potential.

I wish Samsung would at least release an official message why some phones have cameras with problems, and how is it going to be fixed and how long we have to wait, so that at least, we can see they care.
