S24 Ultra has very poor quality USB-C connector.?

Hi, Folks. From my experience, it seems that.
The Samsung S24 Ultra has very poor-quality charging USB ports. Recently, I mentioned a damaged USB port in my previous S24 Ultra 512GB, which stopped fast charging after being exposed to a few drops of rain on the USB-C port.
Three months ago, I replaced my phone with another S24 Ultra 1TB model and added to case cover a USB dust and water protection cap. Despite this, after three months, the phone started showing symptoms of super fast charging problems again. I changed the charging cables twice, but the issue persisted, and it turned out that the USB-C connector is loose.

This is already my second S24 Ultra phone this year; I’m starting to wonder because, with all the previous S models from S7 EDGE to S24 Ultra, I have never encountered a case where the USB port quality was so poor. I change my phone to a new model every year and am usually among the first beta testers, as it typically takes several months to introduce improved updates.

But this port concerns me, as if the quality of the USB-C construction is much worse than in previous S2x Ultra models."

Perhaps I was unfortunate enough to receive a defective model when I exchanged my phone for a new one. The phone does not have a single scratch and has been used properly. I reported the defect under warranty and am waiting for a door-to-door service visit next week.

After the New Year, I plan to switch to the S25 Ultra, but I hope that the quality of the USB-C port will be much better, as in previous models. Unfortunately, I have had a second negative experience with the S24 Ultra, having had charging port problems twice this year.

I have had my S24 Ultra since pre order and use Samsung case that was given to me whilst ordering without issue. I did have a moisture alert come up after last update, but turning the phone off for short while and turning it back on fixed that so more of a software glitch then a actual port issue

As to charging no problems at all, super fast charge or v2.0

Are you using Samsung Charger?

I use an official Samsung charger and cable, and I was surprised that the problem resurfaced after about three months. I exchanged my previous phone, the S24 Ultra 512GB, because of the charging issue. , I had booked a technician to visit my home from Samsung repair warranty Likewize. (Door-to-door) During the first visit, the technician observed that the phone was behaving strangely regarding the charging issue and rescheduled the visit for the following week. That's when I decided to replace the faulty device with the new S24 Ultra 1TB. Unfortunately, the issue returned, but I noticed that this time the charging USB port is loose. When I move the cable, it occasionally initiates super-fast charging. At first, I thought something might have gotten stuck in the port, but it's clean, and I exchanged the cable, but the cable is not faulty.

Maybe you have some debris in the port? That happened to me.

I could see but inside so took it to authorised repair centre and they cleaned it out and working fine

I use a USB cap plug to prevent dirt and moisture from getting in. I have a service appointment booked for next week, so I’ll see what the technician says. I also plan to change my phone after the New Year, so I hope this one lasts without further problems until the end of the year.

Is the moisture alert is a random one or actually get wet. ??? If it's a random one then it's a glitch with software. Try to checking on battery department and turn on fast charging, because it turned off from beginning. Hope the technician will tell you more about it and it should be safe enough

Hi @mieloncom

I have had 2 S24 Ultra 1TB since released and both of them have been working fine. I use it for running and I use a cable to charge it most of the times. So far, so good.

Saying that, the USB cable that came with the 45 W Samsung charger felt a bit loose.

My s24+ stopped taking power when super fast charging, it detects super fast charger, but on accubattery it shows phone losing power. Works fine on fast charging.

I've got a s23 ultra. Hardly used the usb port and now any usb cable or usbc stick do not plug in and just wobble or fall out. The problem is cheap or sub par connectors. All android (and maybe Apple join the party) should come with a designed standardised dirt and moisture proof magnetic standardised video and high current charge connector that lasts thousands if not a million connections before it fails. Usbc although a good idea in practice is proving unreliable and the connections (20+ for video if memory serves me) are prone to failure too quickly in my opinion.
