S24 Ultra has very poor quality USB-C connector.?

Hi, Folks. From my experience, it seems that.
The Samsung S24 Ultra has very poor-quality charging USB ports. Recently, I mentioned a damaged USB port in my previous S24 Ultra 512GB, which stopped fast charging after being exposed to a few drops of rain on the USB-C port.
Three months ago, I replaced my phone with another S24 Ultra 1TB model and added to case cover a USB dust and water protection cap. Despite this, after three months, the phone started showing symptoms of super fast charging problems again. I changed the charging cables twice, but the issue persisted, and it turned out that the USB-C connector is loose.

This is already my second S24 Ultra phone this year; I’m starting to wonder because, with all the previous S models from S7 EDGE to S24 Ultra, I have never encountered a case where the USB port quality was so poor. I change my phone to a new model every year and am usually among the first beta testers, as it typically takes several months to introduce improved updates.

But this port concerns me, as if the quality of the USB-C construction is much worse than in previous S2x Ultra models."

Perhaps I was unfortunate enough to receive a defective model when I exchanged my phone for a new one. The phone does not have a single scratch and has been used properly. I reported the defect under warranty and am waiting for a door-to-door service visit next week.

After the New Year, I plan to switch to the S25 Ultra, but I hope that the quality of the USB-C port will be much better, as in previous models. Unfortunately, I have had a second negative experience with the S24 Ultra, having had charging port problems twice this year.

What constitutes "waterproof"? My Samsung S24 Ultra's charging port has malfunctioned without apparent cause, and despite reporting this issue a month ago, the problem remains unresolved. This represents unacceptable after-sales service from Samsung, and I will not be purchasing Samsung products in the future due to this experience.

The same problem here. I had the S24U just after the Unpacked presentation and now it's loosy. I have direct comparsion with a brand new S24U from my wife and it's fine.... Samsung charges for a premium device but its build quality is poor.

I agree overall; I think the construction of the S24 Ultra turned out poorly this year. I upgrade my Samsung to the newest model every year, but in terms of fragility, this phone broke records—two S24 models in the same year. You really have to handle this phone with care, even closing the port to protect it from liquid and dust.

Also, regarding my previous comments, I had a door-to-door service visit from Likewize, but the technician did nothing—the repair wasn't completed. Currently, the phone charges as if it fixed itself, but I struggled with the issue for over two months.

Besides that, for this S24 Ultra model, a screen protector is a must because the screen looks awful for many users without screen protector. It looks more worn than my older S10+.

However, I am still giving the S25 Ultra a chance. But if the quality also proves poor and problematic after more than 10 years, I will say goodbye to Samsung. For a phone costing over £1500, I expect durability, functionality, and quality.!!

Are you still having this issue? Did you upgrade to the S25

Yes, I currently have the S25 Ultra. The issue with my previous phone resolved itself. I had a technician from Likewize check it, but they didn’t do anything. I replaced the phone, and the problem disappeared.

Best regards.

Not sure it's the same problem but my s24 Ultra keeps cutting out charging when commented via a cable as it appears to wobble very slightly and easily enough to make it start and stop. No visible debris in port. Less than 12 months old and driving mad.

Hi
Fill out the Samsung warranty door-to-door repair form and report the issue if your device is still under warranty; this is free. I had the same problem with my first model, and it really annoyed me. I later replaced it with another S24 Ultra, but the same issue started again after a few months.

Remember, a warranty claim will only be accepted if you use the original Samsung cable and charger.

My current S25 Ultra is working stably.
