S24 Battery Protection

I have turned on Battery Protection on my S24 and set it to Adaptive. When I go to bed I plug my phone into charge but it seems to charge directly to 100% and stay at 100% all night. I have tried changing it to basic also but that also charges to 100% and stays at 100%.

I thought Adaptive battery protection was supposed to charge to 80% and then switch to Basic battery protection just before you wake up

I just found this feature to charge the phone until 80% today after looking 2 days for it. Don't ask me how I found it because I don't know, but if you Google 'what is the best setting to save battery life' it will take you to the Verizon own site and they will explain there how to do it.

Same issue, it's not discharging to 80% over night or 95% during the day.

Hey everyone. Just as an update to this. I have my phone set for Adaptive battery protection and last night for the first time it charged to 80% until about 2 hours before I wake up then it charged to 100%. It did not drop from 100% as basic charging is supposed to do or maybe the phone just didn't use 1% battery but it seems the phone has to learn your sleep patterns first before it applies any protection on Adaptive mode

People understand this. What they are saying is that it does not function that way and they need it to function the way it's explained or else it might be affecting their battery

I'm not convinced. Both myself and my friend bought S24 Ultras within days of each other.

Adaptive protection has worked straight out the box for him. For me, it hasn't. Non of the modes are working, though I got adaptive to work once, following a reboot from Safe Mode.

Regardless of which option, the status bar battery doesn't show the charging symbol, but under device care/battery it says "charging now" and the charge doesn't drop from 100%.

Even during safe mode non of the modes worked, so it's not an installed app interfering. I'm tempted to turn on dev options so I can use debugging.

Seems this is affecting a number of people. This is just one thread I've found reporting the same issue.

As it doesn't work under safe mode either it's not a third-party app causing the issue, so that only leaves a bug.

Is there any chance samsung will fix the Standard loading bug. 3 Firmware Updates and my s24 plus still didnt stop at 100%.

The standard Mode Text says it will charge to 100% stops and charge again when the device is falling to 95%. But it didnt stop! The 80% Maximum setting works without a Problem. It stops the charge at 80%.

Please Samsung fix it!

I have S23 ultra and the battery protection for basic, adaptive, maximum is still not yet fixed after waiting for 2 stable security patches, currently my s23 ultra is running on latest May 2024 security patch.. my phone keeps continuous charging even it reaches 100 at point enabled basic protection it should cut the charging at 100 and re start charging when battery discharges at 95 or 94.. in my testing I kept my phone ideal for 1 hr and noticed 0% drained and the charger was connected

2. I performed heavy task when charging completed at 100% again charger was connected not a drop of 1% was noticed even after 1hr of continuous usage.. This issus was from the day 1, I am not sure how come samsung is not able to resolve a simple logic from day1.. anyway i have lost trust on updates receiving from samsung and will be soon getting other brand Motorola i have noticed that they give updates late but atkeast they do not provide buggy update.

I will never recommend samsung phones ever to anyone
