I am not receiving any new email notifications from Gmail on my S24 ultra. Sometimes I receive after very long time.
My emails are important to me and I want to be notified immediately. I was using xiaomi phone before and there was no issue with receiving notifications. I am considering to return this phone for which I have to check tons of settings before getting a basic functionality to work.
I have already tried these solutions:

Yes, battery optimizations are turned off.
Yes, all notifications are turned on.
Yes, notification categories are turned on.
Yes, show as pop-up is turned on.
Yes, sync is turned on.
Yes, allow background data usage is turned on.
Yes, I have tried to uninstall, clear cache/data, reinstall updates.
Yes, notify for every message inside Gmail app is turned on.

Some apps seem to have an issue with battery optimization and notifications I noticed and Gmail is one of them. For anyone else having this issue, go to Gmail app info (by long press) and go down to battery and select UNRESTRICTED and not optimized until they figure this one out. Gmail is always having an issue when I first get a new phone from past experiences.

Hello, if the problem still exists... I finally found the solution!!! Which, at least for me, finally worked. Maybe it's the solution for everyone else. I found a setting in the Gmail "App Permissions." "Stop app activity in case of non-use." This setting was activated for me. After I deactivated them, I finally got mail notifications!!:))) In the screenshot you can see the setting.

It was already deactivated for me. But I already stopped facing this issue some months ago. I am not sure how it got solved. Thank you for your reply.

Had the same issue after upgrading my s20 Plus to an S25 Plus. Data transfer during set up was fine…just no longer getting email notifications from the Gmail app on either my new S25 Plus nor my Samsung S4 Watch. Tried following your steps but ran into a few issues.
1. Remove Google account - OK.
2. Uninstall Gmail updates - OK (when I found out how)
3. Reinstall the Gmail app - the Gmail app can’t be uninstalled so technically not a reinstallation. Also, to do this I needed Google Play Store…so had to log back in to my Google account to do this….your Stage 5?
4. Gmail notifications. OK Turned on.
5 Add google account - OK but already did this at stage 3.
6. Gmail sign-in. OK, worked through Gmail set up.
A useful set of guidelines - thanks for posting. But Gmail notifications still erratic. I seem to get some but not others..?

If you transferred data and apps from your old device, you'll face issues like these and battery optimisation issues.
So I'll advise to steup your new device fresh without moving apps from old device.
If you already had fresh setup, I don't have other ideas unfortunately.
