Is that not just the generic aptx audio codec?
I don't have an s24 ultra to test this but on my s23 this is just the generic apx codec.
I was going to post and ask if the S24 has got separate listings for Snapdragon Audio, aptx Lossless, aptx adaptive, LL and even LE audio but from your screen shot it looks like samsung do not and are still very behind.
I had an issue with LE audio codec being broken on my S23 and not working on my Creative Zen Le audio headphones and Samsung tech support claimed it was "fixed" many times but it was still broken, several others confirmed what I had found also. I just gave up in the end but I do hope and wish Samsung follow through with their support and fix the audio issues.

This is the low-end aptX codec, this is not what you think is being discussed and whomever liked your comment is also in that same boat, lack of knowledge-boat.
The Codec being discussed is aptx Adaptive and/or aptX HD.
aptX HD:
- Compression ratio 4:1
- Audio format: 24-bit 48 kHz
- Data rates: 576kbps
Adaptive:
- Compression ratio 5:1 – 10:1
- Audio format: 24-bit 48 kHz
- Data rates: 276kbps & 420kbps
"Tier 1", or other words low-end aptX:
- Compression ratio: 4:1
- Audio format: 16-bit, 44.1kHz
- Data rates: 352 kbps
The 2 first on the list above are the ones that needs to be enabled, and is all about Samsungs refusal to do so.
SSC or Samsung seamless Codec isnt bad, no one is saying that, but it only works with Samsung Headphones & any other headphones which do not use LDAC(Literally only Sony), you get either the terrible SBC or low-end aptx.
Like my Sennheiser Momentum 4. Regular ***** aptX, when they can use aptX HD.

It boils down to being locked in the Samsung sphere. I don't know how Apples works with this. I can only assume Apple gives the highest quality codec to their own headphones similar to Samsung. Quick google while typing this confirms my suspicion, Apple does not either support aptX at all & they also created their own Codec which is worse than aptX standard.

Yh I figured that out by now, I was telling someone it didn't have it when he pointed me to dev options didn't really pay attention, my ROG 7 Ultimate supports Snapdragon Sound on my Sennheiser ear buds, but the S23 Ultra doesn't.

I almost bought a Samsung S24 Ultra, but their lousy, atrocious, disgraceful, customer service put me off.
Usually the hardware is spot on, but the software is a joke. Hence, I'm being forced to buy a competitor's products.
I bought a Wi-Fi enabled tumble dryer that did work until I changed my ISP, but even after spending an hour on the phone, they couldn't get it to work. So... now I'll buy anything other than Samsung.

It's unacceptable in 2024 that the flagship Samgsung phone, the S24 Ultra, doesn't support any high-quality AptX HD audio codec. The only options are LDAC (proprietary to Sony) and SSC (proprietary to Samsung). Even the phone that my S24 Ultra replaced, a four-year-old One Plus 8 Pro, fully supports AptX, including Adaptive. Come on, Samsung, you must have spent a fortune developing the advanced AI features for the S24 Ultra. How difficult can it be for an organisation with your resources to add full support for the most common industry-wide Bluetooth HD audio codec? There is no excuse for this omission on such a premium phone when budget and legacy phones have better codec support than your flagship. If you want me to be loyal to your brand I expect you to listen to and explain how/when you plan to remedy this issue.

They remain the minority. Other headphones and tws use apt-x adaptive (and, now, aptx lossless) - Sennheiser, Denon, Dali, Bowers & Wilkins, Focal, etc.
It's a disgrace that a flagship phone, marketed as Ultra and priced accordingly, does not support Snapdragon sound despite having a Snapdragon chipset and modem inside and worldwide.
I think it is just Samsung being cheap and not wanting to pay the licence fee. LDAC is now part of Android (baked into the OS) which explains why they use that codec.

Before my S24 Ultra I had a mid class phone from a chinese brand (2021 release date I guess) and it had support for aptx adaptive codec.
Now I'm disappointed. I have to use AAC codec on my ATH-TWX9 high end airbuds.

You can get an external dongle that supports aptx, I'm waiting for the Fiio bt11, should be coming out on the 8th. I've been using Galaxy ultras over the years if 25 doesn't support snapdragon sound I'm switching to iPhone.
