After suffering from bus payment issues where my phone locks up in the bus reader after just being unlocked, perhaps its time to migrate. Google seems not to care anymore.

I find my 24 Ultra works quite well.
When you say locked up.
What actually happens?
After unlocking the phone, does it go back to lock screen or does it freeze. Something like that.
Is it happening as you make the payment or could it be a registered card issue.
You say about Google. Are you using Google or Samsung Wallet for payment

Google wallet because samsung doesn't work with my gym access card. Locks up means locked as in was unlocked but becomes locked.

Apple Pay does work very well, but really Google Wallet isn't bad either. I haven't used Samsung Pay in a long time, not since S9 days.

For bus payments. You don't need to unlock your phone.

You just tap it

Hey @OrangeFalcon40 and may I extend a Warm Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum 👋

My own personal choice is Google Wallet for transactions.

However in my region I use a specific bus app that I launch and that uses a qr code I tap on the bus drivers pad.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

With both Google and Samsung wallet, there's an option to set a Transport card, and the Transport card can be a debit card.
With Google wallet, once a Transport card has been set, you have the option to turn off verification for Transport use, meaning you only need to have your phone screen on, e.g. on the lock screen (don't need to enter password, pin or fingerprint) to tap to pay for the Transport fare.
With Samsung wallet, your phone screen can even be off to tap to pay for the transport fare. Both of course would require NFC to be enabled.

Apple pay is outstanding, I think generally just to the face unlock. But samsung pay works OK for me just sometimes fumbles a little bit and feels like there is extra steps to pay. But I've never had a major problem really

This was really helpful. It looks like there is a bug. Transport verification is set to off but its still being required.
