The proximity sensor on the s10e seems to be the front camera. I made a phone call and when I use my finger to move across the top of the phone, screen screen turns off during the call when I cover the camera. Could it be the bug with the s10, S10+ and s10e be due to use of a camera as the sensor compared to all previous Samsung Galaxy phones which used a dedicated proximity sensor? ... View more

I also have a note 9, if I cover the top part of the screen then I click the virtual home button on the while covering the screen. The message is displayed and I'm not able to press admittin on the screen.    If I do the same on my s10e, either double tapping the screen or pressing the power button it allows me store and log in. It has on the odd occasion displayed the message but I could still interact with the when while covering the sensor. ... View more

Not for my S10e, but I did do this my OnePlus phone a couple of years when I suffered a battery drain issue too. Also while not proven, I think if you use the smart switch app to migrate to the new phone. I think this might introduce a corrupt settings or configuration that causes conflict causing the drain. I just use Google back up and restore to restore my contacts, calendar and other data that Google back up. All other apps I installed fresh. Hassle but that worked for my OnePlus. @Robertjo  Which model do you have and how many firmware updates have you received?   What I find odd is your whatsapp usage shows 4hrs 56 mins but your phone screen has only been on for 1hour 35 minutes?!  That doesn't add up, I think the whatsapp app is keeping your phone awake (not the screen) but background cpu.  I had the same issue with whatsapp, I updated my phone firmware (my s10e had the 3 updates).  I cleared Whatsapp cache and data, deleted the app and reinstalled.  Then I disabled resticted background activity under battery for this app but allowed background data so I still get the notifications.  this fixed it for me. ...
