Casting to TV ...

Is there a free casting app for Samsung phones? 

I have no problem casting YouTube to my TV from within the YouTube app, that's because YouTube has that built into their app.

I've downloaded apps (Google Play Store) that screen cast but as soon as they're installed I learn they want to be paid  ... or they cast the actual screen of my phone to the TV and I wind up with the center third of my TV displaying my phone's screen. 

I want to cast movies from my IP (to my TV) that I can access from my phone. 

Is there not a free app or a feature somewhere from Samsung that lets me  cast to my TV?

Hey there

Yes there is, it is called Smart View and can be accessed by swiping down from the top to access your quick access panel.

Please note however that some apps and websites block external display.

Stupidly I now realize that by holding the phone in landscape view, the image, instead of using only the middle third of the TV, fills most of the screen.

Hi there, i think there is a way to adjust your screen ratio so that the screen on TV fits to size. Not sure how though.

You can also use chromecast, if your tv uses android.

Tried to watch other day been fine for months then kept getting a loading circle on TV screen share. Might try again as tv just had a update all fine now no constantly loading circle
