In Settings / Advanced Features / Side Key / Press and Hold, I have Power Menu enabled.
The power button does nothing until I go back, choose Bixby and then re enable Power Menu. The side button will only work for a while, the Setting doesn't appear to stick, if you know what I mean.
Anyone else have this issue?

I know this is over a year old, but was this issue ever resolved? I have the EXACTLY same issue. I have my double press set to turn on the flashlight. The press & hold is supposed to bring up the power off menu. If I restart the S24 Ultra, and just try to bring up the power off menu, it does nothing until I go back into the side button settings option and change power off menu to Wake Bixby, and back to power off menu again. Then and only then does everything work as it should. I know the other ways to get this to word, bit it's annoying. I was on the phone with technsupprt and they told me to take it to an Asurion shop and let them have a look at it (FREE).

Does not help. The setting is made, but later when I try pushing the power button it says that the action is not assigned.

Not only is the issue still present, but I I upgraded to an S24 and the issue exists on that phone as well.

It works fine on my S22 Ultra, so it looks like what ever happened, did so on the S23 Ultra, and carried over to the S24 Ultra. I did open a ticket with Samsung and referenced this forum/thread. Please do the same. They seem relatively unaware of this issue. I can duplicate it 100% of the time, and fix it by selecting "Wake Bixby, and then reselecting Power Off Menu".

Problem persists on my S24 and I have found other settings that appear to not be retained. Under settings | notifications | Do not Disturb | App notifications, I change the app exceptions and a day later they are back to before I made the change.

As I mentioned earlier, I did submit a ticket to Samsung and I reference this particular website forum. I think it would be more helpful if more people also opened a ticket with Samsung to let them know that it's not just a few people that have this issue but there are a lot more than they suspect. Perhaps then they will investigate and possibly have a fix for it in a near future update.
