Hi,
On Wednesday morning, I woke up to find:
- my power button had been remapped to Google Gemini
- I'd been signed out of all of my Google accounts
- I'd been signed out of my phone/Samsung account.
- I try logging in and Google always tells me "Something went wrong there"
- I try logging in to my Samsung account and it fails, too.
- Restarting my phone takes about 5 minutes as it contually crashes upon restarting.
- I can't use lots of apps since they require being logged in to the Play store.
- I can't access my Google accounts on my phone
- I can't access lots of other accounts as they're requesting my Google 2FA code that's stuck inside the Google Authenticator app that I've been signed out of.
There's no way on earth these updates are actually properly tested before being pushed out.
Frustrated is an understatement.
I can't log in to my Samsung account, so I can't report the issues via the Members app, and your online help is non-existant or awful copy and paste AI non-sense.
Yes, I've already tried clearing the cache partion, booting into safe mode and all of the recomendations I've seen posted elsewhere, but nothing works. It's clearly a bug in the latest software update.
FML.

So you didn't write and saved on safe place 10 reserve kodes which Google and Samsung offers as solutions to login in their accounts if everything else failed ?

Hi arianwen27,
Thanks for getting back to me.
Yes, the issue does seem very unusual and I was suprised I couldn't see more topics about the same thing.
I've been chatting with Google and Samsung support and like you suggested we're on the final recommendation of performing a factory reset to try and resolve things.
Currently in the process of backing everything up.
Found out I won't be able to back up WhatsApp since I need to log in to Google :'(
The device identifier thing does seem plausible, and I have noticed on a few occasions/apps, my phone's identifier seems to appear as multiple names/sessions. (i.e What I've named my phone, and other sessions are just the model name, etc.) - No idea what causes that or how to fix it, but it hasn't seemed to cause any issues up until now (if that is what's to blame)
I'll try and update the topic once I've performed the factory reset, but surely I'll just be prompt to update to the latest software and things will start over?..
This sucks..

As much as it sucks, it's somewhat 'good' to hear someone else is facing the same issues.
I'm currently waiting on my files backing up so I can try a factory reset. 😕

I've not forgotten any of my details. I know all of my log-in credentials, and can 'attempt' to sign-in, it's just the actual logging in part fails to authenticate and actually let me log in. I either end up on a 'Something went wrong there' page in Google, and on Samsung, I just return to the login form.

Update: a full factory reset seems to have helped and I'm able to log in to things again.
This is far from ideal though, and now I'll have to waste even more time setting things up how I like them again. I've also lost tons of WhatsApp chat history since I couldn't log in to back that up.
What a complete pain in the ....

If you're still stuck - making a backup and factory resetting the phone seems to have solved things for me, for now, anyway.
