Did a recent update screwup Google Assistant?

I never had an issue using the mic in my Google Search Bar widget until just now.

I'm cooking and  I needed the timer for 45 minutes.  In the past I would tap the mic icon in the Google Search Bar and state, 'set the alarm for 45 minutes'.  The app would speak back to me to confirm and that was that.

Now, I ask, and I'm shown search results.  Am I alone with this?

I see the same behaviour on my S22+. Google Assistant works well though.

I think it periodically stops working. Restart phone?

@davehorne: Although it might not be the usual way you access Google Assistant, you can press and hold the Home button in your navigation bar to access the feature, and this should allow you to give spoken commands, such as setting timers. Let me know if this helps.

I restarted the phone as soon as this happened,  I also deleted the Google Search bar widget and reinstalled it.  I'm sure this will be corrected in the future.

Thanks.
