UI7 update: media player smaller on lock screen

With the new UI7 update the media player bar on lock screen is far smaller and has removed the time stamp/ search drag bar ability when it used to be able to be done in the lock screen. It is incredibly small now and I've hit the wrong button or not been able to properly hit the button because of it's size....then I have to unlock the phone to be able to get to the full size media player widget. 

Is there any way to change the UI7 lock screen media player widget back to what it was before UI7 update? The mew lock screen media widget is not so good in my opinion.

Thanks for reaching out on this issue, I had the same one until Someone on here explained to me, if on lock screen double tap on the left of the player it will expand to show album cover and your controls , it's really quite neat.

It's not "really quite neat", it's an unnecessary extra step to tap on an inconveniently placed widget to open a larger version when I have 7 inches of screen. Put it back to a usable size on the lock screen and remove the unwieldy and burdensome extra steps...

They can by not removing options from people. Seems like there is 0 way to customize the Now Bar. Phone just forced this update on me and it's very frustrating losing features
