S22 Ultra stuck in restart loop

Hi All

After you have read below, PLEASE CREATE A NEW POST, of your own too if you are impacted by the S22's restart loop issue so that SAMSUNG are aware of the extent of the issue and they actually feel compelled to do something about it - whether it is free of cost fixing regardless of warranty status or recall the devices that have been impacted as a direct result of them pushing this update that has rendered thousands of devices useless.

I got the same issue (S22 Ultra stuck in boot loop), I was using the camera when the screen froze and then the phone re-started. I saw the message 'optimising apps' which only happens when the phone updates, so I know update was at play. Then it restarted again and went into a boot loop and kept on restarting.

I spent an hour with Samsung discussing options, but they are too stubborn to acknowledge how wide the issue is and how many people it has impacted. They said it needs to be inspected first.

Took it to the official repair shop, who were awful. Basically they said, it needs a new motherboard (quoted £400!). I asked if they have 'diagnosed' the issue, turns out, the technician logic was, since the phone can't be turned on, it must be the motherboard ...

I said even if I was ready to pay that ridiculous money (which I wouldn't), how would you know if it is motherboard, have you diagnosed it? They said no, they can't run diagnostics because the phone can't be turned on and that's why can't be diagnosed. Well, that IS the problem that it is not booting ...

I left with no resolution, Samsung apparently have released this new update OneUI 6.1.1 (I think) that has impacted many S22 line phones, let's see if they own it. Time to switch to another brand, if this is how Samsung are going to treat us.

NOTE: IF YOU ARE READING THIS, AND HAVE BEEN IMPACTED. PLEASE AT LEAST POST ABOUT IT, SO SAMSUNG ARE COMPELLED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT

Samsung Members Star AKA propaganda fanboys out in full force.

You can clearly see the amount of posts here with the same issue from the same firmware update, maybe use critical thinking here, if at all possible.

Just because yours isn't affected doesn't mean a significant amount of members are. Think about if you create some software being consumed on windows 10 vs 11 vs mac vs firefox vs chrome, edge, maybe on mobile ios and android, you think the software will run the same without any issues for any of these combinations? Some have snapdragon, some have exynos, etc, apply the same logic.

Just use your brains i am tired of reading about how this is not a samsung issue according to you and your silly little star underneath your username. Seriously get a grip and hold samsung to a better standard.

It speaks volumes when you proclaim propaganda info from the bone fide genuine forum participants and helpers. No critical thinking needed just common sense

what helpers are you, if you solve nothing but talk about something you have not experienced or have the slightest clue about, but still feel the confidence to blame users, defend Samsung instead of admit you know nothing about the issue and remain silent... you can still do a lot of harm and offend people with the best insterest, especially if you all repeat the same like bots!
Being confident while being ignorant about the problem, is rightsously labeled as propaganda...

Nobody is blaming users for being aggrieved for failing hardware out of warranty or for wishful thinking that an software update caused it. Nobody is defending Samsung because there is nothing to be defended against. Common sense is under attack though

I have the same issues with s22 ultra since the last update.
Cuts out/ sticks on start up screen
Restarts upto 8+ times a day
Goes into safe mode
Heats up at back
Glitch sound then cuts off
Slow screen and sticks
Cuts out during calls
Switches off during the night
My mobile is so unreliable these days.
Will the new Update fix these problems ?

I attended the Samsung service center just now and they informed me the motherboard problem exists.
following the 2024 software update, I experienced a display issue that cost me 20,000 INR. Now, following the March 2025 software upgrade, they recommend replacing the motherboard.
I was a fan of Samsung phones and had recommended them to many of my friends and family.
However, Samsung phones are unreliable and not recommended.
Shift to another company as soon as possible.

The same has happened to mine today. It's been fine and then it came up with a "no network" error, and is now stuck in a permanent boot loop.
