Phone keeps registering wrong number

When we got this new phone it took the number from the sim, this sim number was never active as the number was transferred from my old phone but ai cannot get this incorrect number which is not valid nor active iff my phone.

Same for me, the about phone page shows the wrong number, your carrier may be able to supply you with a new sim which should be fixed to the number you have. If you are using any messages app this will have no impact on their functionality, you just need to enter the correct number when signing into them.

@iSolveIT: SIM cards have a temporary number assigned to them before a personal number is added by your network. On occasion, this number will show up in Settings > About phone instead of your phone number, or it will say 'Unknown' where the number should be populated. This is simply a read error, and you should find that your network capabilities are unaffected, and you can still be reached on your network-assigned number. If you are concerned, then I recommend reaching out to your network provider to request a SIM swap, to see if this resolves the issue.

We had this issue with around 4000 work devices when moving from Vodafone to EE. They managed to fix it by doing a "re-create" on that number. Call your carrier and ask them to do a recreate and it will fix the issue.

This is the only carrier fix that worked, they tried a CLI and a half recreate but a full recreate is the only solution.

May sound odd but literally spent hours on the phone to various EE tech specialists over the past few months.

Thanks. Went to EE they tried that as it was already a new sim. Didnt work, i eventually found a way around it while poking inside the android system one day while i was curious.
