As the title of this post says, my S22 Ultra is stuck at android 13 and one OU 5.1. It must be a bug at this point so i've started looking for possible solutions.

I've tried multiple different CSC codes and using samsung smart switch but I simply cannot get the prompt to update. it simply says that my phone is up to date.

This is one of thoose tricky problems that I havent found a solution other than flashing a ROM onto my phone by force but I don't want to do that.

So if any people smarter than me could please explain why I didnt receive an update still, and how do I get it, that would be awsome. thanks!

PS. Im in the EU region from Croatia.

@medvejan: Typically, if you are unable to receive updates over the air (OTA) via your mobile network, then this suggests that the phone was not intended for use in your current region. As a result, the update is not compatible with your existing software, which varies from country to country for compatibility purposes.

It is also concerning that you have manually changed the CSC on your device, as unauthorised modifications such as this can also have adverse effects.

Can you confirm where you initially purchased the phone from i.e. was it from a reputable retailer inside Croatia?

Hello @medvejan and may I extend a Warm Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum 👋

Sometimes this can be due to a phone being used in the region it wasn't originally launched in.

Updates may be then sent at a different timeline.

A known trick is to use another different activated networks sim card to see if this instigates the update.

A Samsung Experience Store maybe also be able to help.

Personally I wouldn't recommend to start changing the csc or chabge the software as this can produce its own issues.

Updates are sent out in waves dependant on phone model eligibility, phone build and serial number and some network's ask Samsung to delay the update to ensure nothing clashes with their network apps and features.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

I can indeed confirm the phone was bought in the region it was used. Also, one UI 7 is almost out and I still didnt get even the 6. and android 14 has been awhile now so I think its safe to say that the network shouldn't delay the update anymore.

Also yes, it may be concerning that I did modifications myself but do I have another choice? Samsung updates clearly did not work, the phone is mine to do what I please with it so I decided to modify it in a way I can get the official update that I should have had a long time ago anyways. That did not work so I reset everything back the way it was.

but as @BandOfBrothers said, samsung store might be my only option sadly. Im just wondering if there is anything else I can try that I didn't think of? there is no samsung store close to my area so it will be a bit tricky to get there.

As others have said changing the CSC code can be problematic. Some Samsung phones have different hardware for different regions so you could end up bricking your phone if it receives the wrong updates. The model code of your phone will indicate the region it was designed to be used in. The CSC code as to match that region. If it doesn't match then you won't receive updates. Either over the air or using Smartswitch on a pc.

Hey there and welcome to the Samsung UK and EU Community Customer to Customer Forum

Making multiple changes to the CSC code is likely to be your issue. Your device effectively rendered not updatable.

You also said you bought it in region but didn't say where from. For example, buying from Amazon doesn't guarantee you a device made for your region.

Your CSC code VIP is for Croatia so your phones model code should be SM-S908B. If it's not then it's for a different region.

my phone model indeed is SM-S908B and I changed my CSC code BACK to VIP! nothing is bricked, everything is working and I really dont know what @Piper123 is on but my CSC code cannot be the problem because I did it more than a YEAR after the issue is continuously persisting.

In short no, CSC code is not the issue.

Altho its not exactly SM-S908B but SM-S908B/DS, does that make any difference?

I think ds just indicates dual SIM.
