Have Disney+ code from Samsung but existing Disney sub ends on 23rd March 23

Hi,  got code from Samsung but Disney renewed for new yearly sub on 24th March.  Therefore won't expire until 23rd March 2023.  The email from Samsung says

If you already have Disney+ you can still take advantage of the subscription from Samsung by managing your existing Disney+ account:

1 – Generate your code to ensure you don’t miss out (you have until 11/06/2023 to use it)
2 – Follow the steps here to manage your subscription https://help.disneyplus.com/csp 
3 – Once your existing Disney+ subscription has ended, you can use your Samsung code as a returning Disney+ customer

I tried to generate a code at Disney but I can't as I'm an existing user. What do I do now? Do I have to wait until 24th March next year, let the sub end and then redeem the code from Samsung?

Hi @blenky ,

as far as we are aware the offer is available to new and returning Disney+ users (users without an active Disney+ subscription). Have you tried to reach Disney+ support to see if they can accept the code on your current subscription?

Only way I could do it is to cancel my subscription and wait until the end of the month.
Once that was finished, then I could use the code.
Alternatively you can set up another account and use the code for that

Mine is a yearly sub.

Anyway sorted now. I contacted Disney+ and they told me I am already on a free year that I took put in March using a different code from Samsung. I had forgotten that I had done that (getting old!) and that they had refunded me £79.90. So now I have a second code that is valid until June next year. So on 24th March 2023 I can use that for another free year.

Looks like I'll be contacting Disney as well. My paid annual subscription end in March 2023 and the code generated via Samsung is apparently only valid till 23/10/22.

I'm guessing in your case Disney generated you a code you can use on there by using your Samsung code. 

Is that correct?

Yes apparently the code I have I can be used in March 2023 for another year.

@eszu1979 have you had any luck contacting Disney? I haven't yet bought a samsung device but it's currently saying I'd have to use the code by 30 Nov 2022 but my current disney+ subscription also doesn't end till March 2023, so I'm just wondering if you found a solution otherwise it doesn't seem like it's actually worth anything...

Ok, so I just got in touch with Disney+ and they said the code I have is valid until June 2023. It might be worthwhile getting in touch with Disney+ and seeing when the code will expire.

Your comment just reminded me of this so I also got in touch with Disney and my code's also valid to June! So annoying that Samsung aren't giving us the right dates! But at least everything is working out for us now and we don't have to worry!
