If you are locked out of your device and have not set up a remote unlock method, you will need to perform a factory reset. If you have backed up your device, you can restore your data and settings after resetting your device

How exactly is settings locked?

Is there a message telling you it's locked or does it just crash?

@shazaaaa: Are you referring to the standard Settings menu (cog symbol in the Apps screen)? If so, have you recently installed any third party apps or launchers? When you open Settings, do you get an error message or notification?

Hi @shazaaaa  Welcome to the Samsung community :smiling-face:

Firstly is the device being used in the intended region?

Ensure software/Apps up to date. You could try a soft Reset, hold the Volume Down and Power Button down for around 10 seconds until the Device Reboots.  Do you mean you have cleared the cache partition, you could also clear the cache from Settings.

if not resolved advisable to Factory Reset, ensure Data is backed up before completing this step.

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

Ok, idea 1.

Open settings, let it crash.
Open the recent apps menu
Click the icon at the top of the settings app. While it did crash, it should still appear in the list.
After pressing the icon, press app info.
Hopefully app info opens.
Press force stop, press storage, press clear cache.

Try opening settings again.

If it's easier, I think you can do the same thing by getting into the recovery menu of your phone.

That's usually done by shutting the phone down, holding volume up and power till the samsung logo appears, then release. Using the volume buttons to move and power to select, press clear cache partition. It should reboot after and hopefully now settings works.

Worse case scenario, backup your phone using the smart switch app (you can use the cloud option). Then in the recovery menu examined earlier, reset the phone. Really don't want to suggest a wipe but it's a last resort
