Can anyone please tell me, in the Samsung Text messaging App settings, in the bottom right-hand corner, there are two symbols, one is a bell symbol the other is a pin symbol.
What are they for?... I've pressed them many times and the symbols turn to solid colour from just an outline of the symbol, but nothing seems to change in how my messages are sent or received?

They must have a purpose, but it's lost on me, as said nothing changes using the text messages.
I'm hoping someone knows the answer in the community. 🤞

Hello again @Smasungman

Can you take a screenshot and then upload that into your thread so we can 👀 these symbols please.

I use the standard Samsung Messaging app and do not see these.

It may be something to do with the secondary Samsung Messaging RCS  app if your using that which has an app icon that looks like the bottom option in my upload.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

These are the screenshots, but I've had to cut it in half to send. I couldn’t attach as one screenshot as it was too big, even though I decreased the image size.
This is really just one page when you tap text message settings.
The bell symbol and pin symbol are at the bottom of the page at the right-hand corner.
The script is at the top of the settings page.

Sorry for the delay in replying and sending images, but I have been trying for ages this morning, but server error occurred kept kicking in, so couldn't reply.1734767279727.jpg1734767279784.jpg

The bell icon is to mute and unmute notifications for that specific conversation.

Pin used to prioritize a text conversation so that it's easy to find. Pinned conversations are placed at the top of the messages list.

Thanks again 👍 You've come to help me out again. Your help is as always gratefully appreciated.
I posted something else today about Google pop-ups on the Samsung text messaging app.
Google wants me to use their messaging app and make it my default Text app, which I really don't want to do, as I like the Samsung Text messaging.
But I received a reply from a member telling me I will have to swap because Samsung are going to end their text messaging app in the not to distant future, It's very disappointing, I think.
Have you heard about this? assuming you use the Samsung messaging system, or you may already be using the Google text messaging app yourself?

Not a problem at all. 👌

In terms of Google messages yes, Samsung started a while ago a slow transition to Google messages and can't remember when but they said it themselves that they will eventually get rid of Samsung messages and instead Google messages will be default messaging app. For now you can still use samsung messages but you will get pop ups about making Google messages as your default. I'm not sure how long they will support samsung messages, but they will inform you before it happens, so nothing to worry about as for now. And yes i use Google messages it suit better for me.
