Hello,

I have a Samsung Galaxy A52. I have an expensive pair of Samsung brand wired earbuds that have previous and skip, play/pause, and volume fucntion controls on the wire that i use when i bikeride.

The A52 is one of the few phones that still has an old aux port for headphones, although it does charge via USBC.

A recent update a few weeks ago i think is to blame.

I have replaced the wired earbuds with a new pair of samsung branded ones. They didnt work. I tried a pairt of Samsung brand that was USBC port based. They didnt work. I tried alternate brands. They didnt work. I tried a total of 6 different wired earbud and headphond devices of both port types. None of them worked as far as the playback controls on the headphones go. BUT sound would come through on all of them when i pressed play on my phone. this goes for any app, but i primarily listen in Spotify. I have tried these headphones on my partners phone and they all work just fine. I have made sure the USBC port and the Aux port are both clean and in good working order, and even had a tech place in town look them over and they said that the ports are clear and not damaged. I tried the Qtip thing to gently clear out any dust and we are good there. I tried some of the settings adjustments that ive seen people recommended on other forums to fix this kind of thing and none of them worked. This is 100% a software issue and not a hardware issue.

I am NOT willing to do a factory reset on my phone, especially because it is likely to take the current patch all over again when it updates.

I am fairly convinced it was an update that broke the functionality for external device controls to function properly, but i don't know how to fix it. Does anyone know how to back date a most recent patch? Is anyone else having this issue? Is anyones else having this issue on a Galaxy A52? Does anyone know how to fix this, at all? I have seen tons of posts about this issue or something similar, but i never see a solution posted that fixes it, or a resolution.
