Hi
I'm having similar problems. I have several apps that wont load data correctly on WIFI, but work as son as the WIFI is stopped. But all the time basic internet connectivity (Chrome, etc) is fine. Example apps are:
Weather - will not refresh
Flight Radar 24 - will not load aircraft (spinning wheel) but does load maps
BBC Sounds - does not load content, My Sounds, etc
It will often work for an hour or so if there is a significant network change (bounce router, reset connect network on phone), but then stop again. Very annoying to have to keep dropping wifi.

I am having this problem too with new A70 devices my wife and I have just acquired.
BBC iplayer and Sounds both hang on the splash screen.
OS Maps will not show any maps on wifi but is fine on mobile data
Also the My Sky app is very slow to start and then wont show the home page or the VIP tab
All these apps work fine over mobile data
Seems like a common and showstopping problem.....surely someone must have found a solution?

Hi Andy
I did eventually trace my issue, and it was a very unlikely cause, but it may be the same for you!
I found that I had a legacy BT router on the network and it must have been offering bad routing options for some internet requests. I disconnected the old router and all started working correctly.
I'd spent ages trying to work out what was wrong with the phone or the new router!

That is really interesting.
I dont have a legacy router but I do have a rather eclectic network set up due to difficulties getting full wifi coverage in the house.
I have Sky broadband and 3 Sky Q mini boxes which establish a wifi mesh network. Additionally I have a home plug linkage from my main sky box to one of the mini boxes which has problems staying connected to the main box over wifi. I wonder if this is causing similar routing issues?
I'm not a networking specialist so will have to rely on trial and error to see if I can find the problem. Also I need to go on someone else's wifi at some point to see if the problems persist.
I'll report back

I'm using BT router and mesh to cover my property. I generally try to avoid the mains wiring based wifi extenders - I have a (perhaps unfounded) suspicion that they may be unreliable!
Make sure that you only have one DHCP service running - that can cause weird results.

Hilarious......I rebooted my Sky router and everything now works just fine!!
The old 'turn it off and on again' trick wins again....
Thanks for your insight anyway!
