Samsung TV to Samsung soundbar with ARC - not working

Hey!

I have a Samsung UEMU6175, and a Samsung HW-MS660 soundbar.

The TV is up and running, and the soundbar can play audio when streaming via Bluetooth.

However, getting the audio from the TV via HDMI (ARC) is not working.

I have the soundbar source set to "D.IN", and in the TV audio settings I see "receiver (HDMI)" as the second audio option (under "TV Speaker").

If I try to connect to "Receiver (HDMI)" the TV shows "Connecting Anynet+ Receiver" and a "loading" circle, but then nothing happens.

The TV tries to connect to this Receiver (HDMI)  like very 30 seconds, and the sound then goes mute for like 5 seconds. Then it is back to TV Speaker.

The TV actually connected to the soundbar once for a few minutes, when sound was coming through the soundbar. So there seems to be potentially working connection, but something causes this connection to not work properly.

Any ideas on what to try in order to make this work? Seems like a Samsung TV and a Samsung soundbar would be quite easy to connect, but no such luck...

Unfortunately, my sound bar only has 2 hdmi ports, one out and one in

Google hdmi splitter 4k atmos switch and make sure it supports Atmos and 4k.

I have to say it's been a real nightmare getting my Samsung solution to work.  I bought the 15m fibre one connect cable as I wired all cables with refurbish.  Lucky I put two hdmi cables as it would have been a pointless top end Samsung sound bar and top end qled.  Needless to say that spending over 6k one the setup and it still gives me grief.

You will soon get screen tearing and that's a whole new ball game.

Hope it works

When I connect my Xbox to the sound bar first and then sound bar to the tv via arc, I now get Atmos sound but the Xbox now says I don't get hdr, just regular 4K

I was having the same issue with my Q70 82" TV and my Q80 sound bar and thought it was the sound bar.

I actually turned off Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) and had to turn it on in order to use TV ARC function.

settings> general> external device manager

Thank you for this tip. I have the exact same problem with my TV Q80R and Soundbar N650. Disconnecting all other HDMI connections, leaving the soundbar connected to the HDMI IN (ARC) works so far. About the adaptor you mentioned will the LINDY HDMI CEC-Less Adapter work if it happens again? This is the only one I can find on Amazon Australia.

The firmware running on my sound bar is the latest so in my opinion Samsung should do something about it.

As long as it disables the pin you should be fine, is the Lindy one expensive? If Amazon you can always return it if it doesn't work:)

Thanks for this! This issue has been driving me nuts since I bought the soundbar 2 months ago. Despite numerous calls to Samsung, they couldn’t resolve the issue. Bought the adaptor, connected it to my Panasonic 4K disc player - and the problem disappeared! Further research shows this is a common problem, so come on Samsung, pull your finger out and let your advisors know the solution so that they can help your customers when they report this all-too-common fault!

Hi,

Try this one:

just unplugg all HDMI or other connection from Tv/Tv receiver. Put  again HDMI cable from sound receiver back to Tv receiver on HDMI (ARC ).

Turn on and off of 1-2 times the surround receiver.

You should get now sound on surround system:)
