Hello wonder if you can help.

I have just purchased a Gear s3 and I have it paired and connected to my iPhone 6. The watch works perfect until I become out of Bluetooth range and thus my watch will lose connection, which is as expected. The problem comes when I’m back in Bluetooth range i.e. back with my phone the gear s3 will not automatically reconnect like other devices I have left it 30mins plus and it still won’t automatically reconnect. I have to manually keep turning Bluetooth on and off on both the watch and phone and then clicking on both the Bluetooth connections on my phone (Gear S3(DC10) & Gear S3(DC10) LE) to try and get it to reconnect eventually after going through this process multiple times it will finally connect again. Any help will be appreciated as I can’t keep doing this every time I’m away from my phone. Thanks In advance.

There is a good fix that I have found for this. If you make sure your Bluetooth is on both devices, go to "Connect to new phone" on the watch, scroll to the bottom to "Backup" and then let it attempt to connect. Then go to your Samsung watch app, and hit connect. It will be connected. I think it just needs to force the watch to connect, or sync, but that option isn't available on the watch aside from this workaround.

In case I start the app, the watch is reconnected succesfully most of the time indeed(without those additionel steps). It Will sync....

But I would like to have it reconnected without having to start the app. Thats the goal!

On iOS, Resetting the Network Settings worked for me. No need to reset the Watch.

Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.  :sun-with-face:

I never said you have to reset it, you act like you're connecting a new phone, then just hit backup before continuing. Connects immediately after hitting connect on Gear app. For Android, obviously. The way to avoid resetting anything at all.

really stopped trusting Samsung. Still the same.
As they say above, with the app. Bluetooth Auto Conect is going great.
It's a good solution.

Greetings.

Sunday my watch indicated there was new software available, I updated it to: R760XXu2ESF2

From then reconnection seems to be fine. Offcourse it can be the result of the 'reboot' after I updated it (so maybe it will again stop working after x days). Did somebody else update the software?

I'll keep you updated.

It lasted a week. 😞

After that connection is not restored anymore (even after a restart of watch). I have no idea!

Everytime connectivity is disrupted, I have to manually (re)connect the watch again (by starting the galaxy watch app on my phone). It will then find and sync without problems.
