Galaxy Watch6 not tracking deep sleep

Hi there,

I've been using Galaxy Watch6 Classic 40mm for a few days now and I noticed that my watch is not tracking deep sleep. The watch tracks my sleep, shows when I've been awake, REM etc., but deep sleep stays at 0m. Also in the overall sleep score it shows that everything is fine.

I had Galaxy Watch3 before this one, had no issues. Since I have issues with my sleep it is important that it is tracked correctly.

Does anyone experience the same issue? Any tips?

UPDATE 12/10/2023:

As all of you I have been experiencing the same issue since the release of this watch. However, for the past 2 weeks the sleep tracking seems to be working.

I still have the latest update from August, so nothing has changed. The only thing that happened out of my normal use - my watch died due to an empty battery. Since then it has been tracking my sleep as it should. Don't get me wrong, my deep sleep fluctuates due to various factors, but now I feel like the watch reflects my sleep correctly. So some nights I have 35min of deep sleep, but most of the nights it still tracks about an hour on average.

I am attaching screenshots before 30.09 when it died and after. I did travel during this time and there was time difference but I highly doubt that had any effect. I didn't drop or hit my watch. It just died in the middle of the night while I was sleeping. And now it works (knock on wood).

I'm having the same deep sleep issue. Has anyone found a fix yet?

I don't think so. At least I haven't heard anything. With the last OS update a fix was not included.

This seems to be a much larger issue than I expected, so I hope this will be resolved asap.

Same issue on GW6 Classic 47mm on 23cm wrist. Please resolve the deep sleep not recording correctly Samsung. Most I have so far is 9mins.

I wore my Garmin Venu 2 for one night and it said 1hr 40min for the same night. Not 9min! Hope my post helps. Thankyou

Yes! No deep sleep, whereas I was recording about an hour per night with my watch4 classic.

Just updated my watch 5 last night to UI5 and it's sleep tracking no longer tracks deep sleep. Clearly a firmware issue.

I am having the same problem that didn't exist with my watch 5.  Sleep score is 81, good, but deep sleep registers as 0%, 2 minutes.  Also, the icon that let you compare your sleep score to those in your age group has disappeared.  That capability was important because many users of sleep tracking are middle age and older, because that is where sleep begins to change and people become concerned.  An update is needed to (1) fix deep sleep monitoring and (2) bring back the icon that gives the normal range comparison for the user's age group.  The sleep animal approach is not as helpful as the ability to see if certain lower levels were actually normal for your age.

I'm having the same exact issue  galaxy watch 6 47mm. I come from a galaxy watch 4 and as soon as I got the new watch my deep sleep time dropped to 0-5 minutes.

Just swapped my GW 5 Pro for a GW 6 Classic (47MM). I always got deep sleep on my GW 5 Pro, but I get NONE (zero, nothing) on my GW 6 Classic. It has been like this for 2 days so far (swapped 2 days ago).

The GW 5Pro was NOT updated to the new firmware. I still have it, so maybe I will wear both at the same time and see how the sleep readings/data differ between the two.

Same issue.  The only thing that has changed with my sleeping is the watch itself. I changed from a 5
