Why my QN90B cannot do update to firmware 1504?

Hallo there

Why my QN90B cannot do update to firmware 1504 while this software present on Samsung website?

Is it because it is in Beta stage? I've read some other post this firmware breaks Local Dimming Zones 😞

Will Samsung destroy my TV? 😞

@the_bart123   New firmware is sometimes available for downloading to USB  before the OTA version s available.  I do not think a Beta would be on the website and 1504.0  is apparently different from 1503.9  .  However as one member anyway saying there is still an issue may be best to lave for now.

My tv automatically downloaded. As usual even when the automatic option is turned off. Not had chance to look at it yet

Mine updated automatically to 1504, even if the auto update was turned off too.

Also, it BROKE LOCAL DIMMING, the image is significantly lower quality now, now the tv looking like a LED tv from 15 years ago.

I am still in shock and waiting for a Samsung specialist to contact me regarding this issue.

By the way, there was another thread regarding this issue posted by another user. He was very critical of Samsung, etc.

For some reason, that thread magically dissappeared.

We do not know if Samsung fixed his local dimming issue.

We know now that Samsung has not yet solved my local dimming issue created by the firmware 1504.

So far tizien has been changed around making it even more confusing Unfortunately. The picture quality on the 95b although doesn't seem to be suffering the extreme light bleeding of lower models in the series have reported there is a marked increase brightening to the edge of the screen. The blacks arnt quite as black and the whites are more cream than then crisp as before.

Update broke local dimming for my 55” QN85B as well, support is continuing to lie, telling me everything is ok. Don’t update. For those who did - run the smartphone calibration tool, that fixes it until you restart the TV/it loses power.

That would explain why mine does not want to do OTA update.

So when Samsung offers download firmware file for 2 weeks but NOT OTA than means download file is in beta stage

Mine won't update too, but now I'm glad to know the issues before trying to force an update (that was the primary reason to look for tips on how to do that on the Internet). Let's wait for a non-beta fw release

Meh, I've downloaded file from website - fun fact - I've learned QN90B has newer and OLDER motherboard!

Mine has older - sucks.

Anyhoo 1503 officially has just faster menu which is REALLY faster - that's it
