What type of files are used to record onto the HDD plugged into my USB port on the Smart TV? I've a few programs I'd like to watch on my other TV. I can't.

Is there a hack or a file converter I can use to get round this?

Hey @TheDocker ,

are you able to tell me why you are unable to see this? Do you get any error code when you try to watch some recordings? Can we also take your TV model code and what HDD are you using? The model of the TV can be found at the back on a white label.

Hi,

I can't find the model number at the moment - TV is quite snuggly mounted on the wall upstairs in the bedroom.

I have discovered that Samsung uses a type of file which prevents them being read (recordings played back) on other TVs.

Do you know of any work around to allow me to view my recordings elsewhere in my own home?

That is fine @TheDocker. I have had a look into this and it appears that recordings are DRM-protected and therefore cannot be played back on a computer or on a different TV. In addition, these files cannot be played back on your TV if its video circuit has been replaced.
