Hi I recently brought a Samsung T5300 tv but i can seem to find the right size screw to put in the holes. Can anyone help?

This can't be right. M4 screws don't fit, plus the depth from the base of the screw hole to the casing is about 28mm so a 28mm long screw would not have enough thread left on it to fit the bracket. Could someone from Samsung actually do a physical check on this rather than just reading false info from the manual ?

I've had the same issue finding which screw size is correct for my new 32" tv. I've tried 3 different brackets but each time the holes in the back of the TV were bigger than the holes in the various back plates. I rang Samsung Support who told me screw size M4 which I had but it didn't seem to fit. I next chatted online to a support specialist who assured me that a mount from "Fits my Samsung" would definitely work so I ordered one and I had the same problem. I rang Samsung support again and was told to either pay for a professional installer (insulting) or order a different wall mount costing £79.79. I was about to return both the wall mount and the TV but decided to ring Fits my Samsung first. A lovely gentleman explained to me that the thread for the correct screw was set deeper into the larger hole in the TV and this can be seen by shining a torch into the hole. He told me which screw to use from the many supplied and when to use extra washers or spacers. His advice was followed and the plate is now securely fixed to the back of the TV. I feel rather foolish that it was so simple to resolve the issue but ,as so many others seemingly have had the same issue, I thought I should share this information. My question now is, WHY DO SAMSUNG SUPPORT NOT KNOW THIS AND, IF THEY DO WHY ARE THEY NOT EXPLAINING THIS?

I had the same issue with my UE32T5300, and M8 screws worked for me, but they were a bit too long. I used spacers to make sure the TV was secure. If you're attaching it to a wood slat tv wall, make sure the slats can handle the weight and use proper anchors or a solid backing.
