I have the following problem
New firmware 1406.4 is out How to upgrade as I installed 1409 half a year ago !!!???
I used this link from the moderator and installed the intermediate version 1409. But now when the new version 1406.4 is out it turns out to be lower in number and can't be installed!? Samsung what to do, how to update to 1406.4 and fix the sound problems?

Hi all,
Sharing the official response on this one we received:
"We are aware of this unfortunate side effect of the software update T-MSLDEUC_1401.0 & T-MSMDEUC_1401.0, during HDMI switching Audio is forced back to TV Speakers.
We will rectify this problem when we make the next full update to the TV Firmware during 2023, but until then we can offer an interim firmware update available to download & update by USB using the following links
The firmware needs to be “Unzipped” before writing the root of a USB.
If you are unsure which Firmware you require, simply download, extract & write both to the root of a USB stick & the TV will update using the correct file.
Instructions on how to create the USB Update file can be found here:
Note: The supplied links mention 'PS42B450B1W', this is not a mistake & the correct update file is available at that location."

Hi @richardhxEU ,
The links above are for all affected UK and European TV sets. For folks who are from elsewhere it's best for them to get in touch with their local Samsung Support.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Hello,
You got this answer from Samsung support in which country. I'm interested if you get this update because the support here in Switzerland is so bad that it told me that it shouldn't be installed manually and that the problem is not related to the television.
Please can you share the link with us as soon as this update is available. Thanks a lot

Hi @Noise_Maker , No worries. I was advised by my TV/AV colleagues at Samsung UK & Ireland. I can't comment on another country's Support (as I have no visibility of them from the Samsung-side of things; nor even any personal experience of them myself), but local Samsung teams are usually the best placed to look into and advise on specific customer cases in their relevant area.

Hi guys,
Update on this one from my colleagues at Samsung UK TV/AV:
"We are aware that the recently released software update (T-MSLDEUC-1406.3 & T-MSMDEUC-1406.4) are not available for those customers who previously installed T-MSLDEUC-1409.0 & T-MSMDEUC-1409.0. A manual release has been made available to enable update to the latest version. We apologise for the inconvenience.

I've been advised that these should work for all relevant European models.
Downloading, extracting, writing and updating is the same procedure as the 1409 software, but just in case anyone needs the instructions again in this post:
