Hello everyone

Yesterday my QE43Q60TAU updated it's firmware to v.2505

After the update, the remote has stopped working (it shows the blinking "unpaired" light) and it cannot find or be found by any bluetooth devices.

I have checked the device care menu and the service menu and all seems to be fine, but the BT functionality is clearly not working.

And before you suggest it, I have other Samsung monitors where I have very easily paired the remote just by clicking the buttons, so the remote is working perfectly fine.

I have tried everything and anything I have been able to find: reverting the tv to factory setting, reverting the remote to factory setting, unplugging and plugging it... everything on the customer service again and again for ours.

I also updated the firmware manually to 2601, but the issue persists.

The TV is working fine via the Smart Things remote on my phone, but it is a hassle to not be able to use the remote properly.

Is this a known issue for 2505? Does 2601 not fix it?

Many thanks!

Hi! Welcome to the Samsung Members community!

Power Cycling (Extended):
You've unplugged the TV, but try an extended power cycle:
Unplug the TV from the power outlet.
Press and hold the power button on the TV itself (not the remote) for 30 seconds.
Wait another 5–10 minutes before plugging it back in.

Check for other devices:
Even though you have checked the device care menu, it would be wise to check for any other Bluetooth devices that the TV may be trying to connect to. Sometimes, if a device is trying to pair, it can stop other pairing processes.

It may be worth speaking to Samsung directly to see how they can assist.

Its not ideal but you could also try connecting to smart things over WiFi.

Hey there. It absolutely didnt work.

We have started using our phones via the Smart Things but it feels horrible to do so.

Especially when we have not one but TWO 2016 remotes. The TV otherwise is intact, so it feels like a waste to change it.

This feels incredibly like programmed obsolescence, since the TV hadnt received an update in years and suddently it stops working.

FIXED FOR US!!!

We literally had the exact same thing happen early Monday. The remote would turn the TV on and off but no other functions would work and using the pairing buttons it would not be found.

Tried fully charging remote. Turning off TV, power cycling, pairing other remotes then reattempting etc and nothing. Our other Samsung TV remote would pair perfectly and work great but not this remote would not.

About 10 min ago I turned on the TV using the remote with issues and reattempted to pair. I placed the remote directly under the IR sensor on the TV itself. Heard the subtle chimes and it successfully connected. So working again for us.

I have the opposite problem: The remotes (I have 3 by this point) all pair to all other Samsung monitors, but nothing will pair to this one.

Also, no bluetooth speakers or headphones are either found and nothing can find the TV on the bluetooth network.

Device care and the service menu show the bluetooth emitter ir working perfectly, so my only explanation is that the update broke something, just like I have read in 2022 and 2023 updates to other monitors.

Weird, again, that after 3 years a 2020 TV received two updates in less than two weeks.

Hoping for another one that fixes this issue, though. Using the Smart Things remote is a pain

I have discovered Smart View doesn't work either. I guess it works with the bluetooth connection.

More functionality that is not available. Amazing.

The 2601 update is available on my q95t. I haven't updated it in years. Came out in 2020. Cost £3k. The Tv works fine. I'm not going to update it. Just watched something on YouTube where samsung forced updates on customers' s95 tvs. They had auto update switched off. Their tvs were rubbish after the update. This practice is illegal, surely.

I have a 2020 75" samsung tv and it is playing up too. Apps not working properly, videos on YT buffering despite super fast internet.

I'm convinced that TV's are programmed to self destruct after x-amount of time too.

My 2020 Samsung tv has been playing up for about a year. All the usual 'fixes' have no effect at all.

Not happy. 😫
