I bought a QN85D 65" TV and hooked it up to an older Samsung Soundbar via Optical Cable. Before selecting the optical option, the volume would go up and down on both the TV and the soundbar. Once I selected the optical option, the volume only went up and down on the soundbar, but Receiver Optical displayed on the screen whenever I changed the volume. My old Samsung never did that. I don't want to see Receiver Optical every time I change the volume. Is there a way to make it stop? TIA

@Angel121: To troubleshoot the issue, please try heading to Settings > All Settings > Sound > Sound Output, and select 'Q-Symphony'. This will play audio from the TV and sound bar, and may help to remove the 'Receiver Optical' message from the screen when you adjust the volume.

Thanks for your response. Even though my sound bar is only 5 years old I guess it is too old for this TV. I followed your directions and it says No Speakers Available. I don't have speakers, just the sound bar, so I'm assuming it to old for it to recognize.

I tried your suggestion. HMDI 3 eARC and Q symphony is not an option. All that's available is TV speaker or intelligent mode standard or amplify.
Thank you for helping me with this
