controlling DirecTv box causes my Q55S95 TV/B650 Sound Bar to unmute

I recently got a Q55S95DAFXZA TV and HW-B650 Sound bar which I have coupled with my DirecTv Genie receiver.  Now if I mute the sound on the sound bar and then change something on the Genie receiver the audio unmutes.  When I say change something it can be channel up/down, Guide, DVR, or other Genie settings.  

This TV/Sound bar combo replaced a QN50QN90AAFXZA TV and Klipsch Sound bar that did not display this behavior.

I've looked into every setting I can and cannot get back to the behavior I had.

Any ideas?

You mention DIRECT TV, I guess you're from the US?

I think you better off posting your question on the US Community site, ad they will have better undersring of Direct TV related questions
